When you start with N OCD, you'll work with me or be paired with a therapist in our network, based on your preferences.
I meet people where they are, teaching them the skills to overcome their personal challenges and gradually pushing them outside their comfort zones so they can live their best lives without the burden of their OCD symptoms. At N OCD, my team and I provide personalized and effective specialized treatment for OCD and related conditions, such as BFRBs (including skin-picking, nail-biting, and hair-pulling). Our understanding of these conditions enables us to diagnose and treat them properly. We have training in evidence-based treatments, including Exposure Response and Prevention (ERP) therapy—the gold standard treatment for OCD.

Additionally, you will have access to ongoing support through direct messaging and a community of peers with OCD, ensuring you always feel supported and connected.
From a young age, I was observant and often noticed issues between people that they couldn't see themselves. During my undergraduate studies, I discovered a profound passion for psychology. From the moment I attended my first psychology class, I knew it was the right path for me. My connection to this field is personal as well— OCD runs in my family, and I exhibit some traits myself. At N OCD, we specialize in providing evidence-based treatment for OCD, leveraging our deep understanding of its complexities to ensure accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. We are also well-trained in ERP therapy, the gold standard for OCD treatment

This is truly a judgment-free zone; nothing you say will shock me, even if OCD is trying to tell you otherwise.
I decided to become a therapist because I believe everyone deserves a healthy and happy life, and good mental health is crucial for that. I struggled with anxiety and social anxiety as a child, which caused difficulties growing up and had a big impact on my life. Mental health has been too long ignored, denied, and neglected. At N OCD, my team and I specialize in providing evidence-based treatment for people with OCD. Our deep understanding of the nuances of OCD enables us to properly diagnose and treat it. At N OCD, we’ll work to get to know you and create a treatment plan to help you address your challenges and achieve your goals.
My approach to OCD therapy is person-centered. Therapy is like hiking mountains. Some days the terrain is manageable and flat; other days, it's steep and challenging with narrow paths and uneven terrain. Rest if you must, but don't quit. I will be like your walking stick, bottle of water, and energy bar all rolled into one to support you every step of the way. Take a deep breath and remind yourself that you're worthy of being heard. At N OCD, my team and I provide personalized and effective specialized treatment for OCD and related conditions, such as BFRBs (including skin-picking, nail-biting, and hair-pulling).

I specialize in teens and young adults who are dealing with anxiety, OCD, and life changes.
Hi! Thank you for being here. Even if this might seem like a small step, you are taking the time to reach out for support, and that’s a huge accomplishment. At times, we feel like we can tackle the world, and then suddenly, things take an unexpected turn, and we no longer feel in control – hello, anxiety! Because change is constant, we must embark on a personal journey to understand our unique response to the feelings that can come with it. Together, through a creative and empathic approach, we can identify tools to meet your individual needs. Regardless of the approach, I believe a strong therapist-client relationship is key.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists

How long does OCD treatment take?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?

Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?

Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?

Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
