Navigating transition and uncertainty alone can be daunting and generate fears that keep us stuck. We can feel trapped in our heads, and whether change is something we are actively pursuing or is a condition we feel is forced upon us, it can be difficult to find a way out, especially all on our own! Therapy can be a place to unburden ourselves and share our minds with someone who can provide an outside perspective and help us move forward with purpose. It can also be especially helpful for people who struggle with vulnerability and shame and provide a safe space to express and process emotions and struggles.

It’s okay to feel stuck. We all dwell on our mistakes and difficulties. But it’s important to draw a line, beyond which we stop dwelling and begin acting to improve our emotional, mental, and physical health. Progress doesn’t always look the way we want it to and that’s okay. This is why we set goals for ourselves so when we reach those goals, we can look back or be still in the moment and see the progressions along the way. Making progress and being in a better space than we were is the goal. We know that change is hard and making minor progress elicits the change we want to see in ourselves.

My approach to therapy is person-centered; meaning that therapy is for you and defined by you. I aim to create a supportive, affirming, and warm therapeutic environment where you feel comfortable to show up authentically as you are. I believe that the best therapeutic work is done when you feel calm, respected, and heard by your therapist. My therapeutic style is eclectic and draws from several evidence-based modalities including Rogerian, Relational and Narrative Therapy. I also incorporate skills from CBT and DBT into my practice.

Feeling uncomfortably anxious or sad? Trouble sleeping or just not feeling yourself? Are you going through a stressful time such as coping with a medical illness or the illness of a loved one? Maybe even grieving the loss of a loved one? Maybe you are going through a stressful move or relationship problems. In this difficult time, it is important to have support around you. It may be hard to imagine that you can cope with this, or that things can get better.

I am passionate about helping Millennials and Gen Z overcome hopelessness, exhaustion and self-doubt. My clients feel like they’re forcing a smile but deep down they feel depressed and defeated. It’s confusing and scary! There’s a reason for your sadness, and I want to discover where it’s coming from with you. I’ll help you shed a light on your depression so you don’t have to feel like a fraud or a crazy person. I get it, we can figure this out together. Here’s a bit more about what it’s like working with me in therapy:

I primarily offer individual therapy, helping client's identify and modify maladaptive patterns that contribute to feelings of distress. These may include negative thought patterns that influence mood and behavior, difficulty controlling excessive worrying, experiencing unhealthy emotions and behaviors associated with trauma, and difficulties adjusting to different life stressors. I view therapy as the process of developing a deeper level of awareness that leads to better understanding of oneself, personal growth, and motivation to strive for healthy changes.

I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who provides remote Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services. I specialize in parent training: dealing with socially inappropriate behaviors, and teaching skill acquisition (speaking) social skills (peer play) or adaptive skills (potty training, bathing, etc.). I work with all types of learners within and outside of neurodiverse communities. All parents deal with a range of challenges: hitting, biting, refusal, sleeping issues, eating struggles, getting your child to speak their first word. You are not alone. I believe I can help you shape behavior and ease some of the frustration.
