Cassidy has spent the majority of her time working with teens, young adults, and couples, regarding issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression, major life transitions, relationship problems, disordered eating, and spirituality issues.
Are you feeling frustrated and confused by your closest relationships? Do you find yourself stuck in familiar negative patterns, in your relationships or your own habits? While our greatest heartaches often come to us in the form of relationships, they can also be the doorway to providing healing and reparative experiences. Sometimes we need another calm and caring presence to help us express our emotions, to gain clarity where we have confusion, and fumble our way forward out of the stuck places. Therapy can provide a healing relationship, a place to receive attentive and non-judgemental listening, and hope for a better tomorrow.

I can help uncover the beliefs and possible trauma or attachment wounds that are preventing you from living a fulfilling life.
You are aching to live a more authentic, fulfilling and empowered life, yet you are struggling to know how to proceed. I get it. I have been there. We build lives on foundations based in old programs, expectations, and beliefs and then when we feel the call for something more, we can feel stuck, anxious, or guilt. The life we built no longer suits us and we need help navigating change as we rebuild. Perhaps a relationship, a career, a midlife awakening (or pandemic) has triggered a longing for something more meaningful or fulfilling. Or maybe, something less- less drama, less stress, less anxiety, less soul sucking.

I have a wide range of specialities from depression, anxiety, trauma, sexuality, health concerns, family or relationship issues, career coaching, self esteem, addiction and adjustment issues.
My goal is to create an environment that is safe to heal. One that each person can speak freely without fear of judgement or ridicule.I confront the core issues with warmth so that we can tackle each problem one-by-one. I can work with individuals, children, adolescents, couples or families. I am referred to as a "family therapist" because I work with one person or many at the same time. Sessions are tailored to the client needs and goals. Talk therapy is not for everyone and if someone has difficulty expressing themselves we can use other modalities.

With a trauma-informed and story-focused posture, I utilize Internal Family Systems, attachment-based models, Psychodynamic interventions, and somatic and mindfulness-based practices.
Hello! You have taken a courageous step by simply exploring therapy options, and my hope is that you continue to receive clarity and empowerment to take the next step. To be human is to experience both immense joy and overwhelming sadness or fear. Sometimes the fear just becomes too much, and we find helpful but harmful ways of coping. My desire is that the therapeutic, safe space invites you to return to hope, to play, and to belonging through relationship. This return will require walking through - not around - the pain and sadness. I would love to come alongside you in this process!

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
