My name is Robinta Calixte, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor working with various individuals, couples, families, minors, and preteens. I offer individual mental health counseling to children, adolescents, and families. Children can often times be difficult for adults to understand. Even those children who act like "little grownups" need help communicating their needs and feelings in a developmentally appropriate way. At times we have to uncover those challenging feelings that are suppressed, which become the root of problematic symptoms. When facing difficulties, the entire family system can be impacted. I believe people are so resilient and have the inherent capability to work towards healing and growth when provided with a safe and supportive space.

It is my firm belief that everyone needs a safe place to explore, grow & heal in the presence of another and I consider it an honor to provide such a space day after day to my clients. Trauma recovery is my specialty and use EMDR or A.R.T to facilitate recovery. Many clients may not remember certain times in their lives but believe something may have happened. This is called dissociative trauma.

I truly believe in the idea that there are numerous ways to solving problems and work closely with clients to enable them to reach their goals and potential through non-pathologizing, non- judgemental communication.
