Are you a young adult or a parent of a teen who is struggling in life and feeling stuck without a way forward? Are you having difficulty getting from where you are to who you long to be? I believe it is in relationships where we are harmed, but also where we find healing. Because of this, it is my goal is to create a safe space where my clients can begin to experience growth and freedom. I counsel from a Christian worldview and integrate elements of various theories into my counseling to fit each of my client’s unique needs.

Sydney believes everyone has a story worth telling and is worthy of a safe space to share. She is passionate about working with children, teenagers and young adults and seeing them grow. In addition to counseling, Sydney works with students in various settings including mentoring through a local ministry and coaching middle school cross country. Due in part to her own personal experience with counseling, Sydney believes healing comes with meeting an individual right where they are.

I have been fortunate to have the majority of my referrals come through friends or family of prior clients. The passion I felt when entering the field of counseling 20 years ago, seems even greater today. More individuals and couples are genuinely motivated to seek deeper levels of understanding and self-awareness. Most behavior and thought patterns are learned early in our development. Many suffer due to repeated behavior and choices, involving friends, family, and relationships. Change in the choices we make, often results in positively altering the way we feel, perceive, and live life. Authentic change begins within oneself.

One afternoon I told my wife that after another tour, I would be leaving the U.S. Coast Guard for a very different career. Serving my country and the men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard is one of the greatest honors and privileges of my life. After serving for nine years I knew that directly assisting and serving people is the life-giving work of my heart.
