As a therapist, I work in a partnership with my clients to create a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment. I have 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families in various settings. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is paramount for growth and change, and you will know within the first session whether I am the right therapist for you. Over the years, I have developed ways of addressing the past while focusing on the present day, and I have training and experience working with clients from childhood to adulthood. Ideally, I want the client to be willing to peel back those layers of pain through understanding, believing truly in themselves along with what they are willing to work towards. Painting a better version of themselves and their plans to accomplish it. In addition, I am well versed in utilizing "Learning Mindfulness, Emotional Regulation, and Distress Tolerance" to assist clients with accomplishing their goals.

I have a great deal of experience with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and addiction. I enjoy working with them because I have so many tips and techniques that I have seen work, and that gives me a great deal of motivation and drive to help them!

There are daytime and a night time groups available. Dr. Ami Owen received her undergraduate degree in Social Science and a minor in Psychology. She received her Master’s in General Family Therapy with an advanced emphasis on families and trauma. Dr. Owen also received a Doctorate in Counseling and is a Clinically Certified Trauma Professional. She is licensed in ID, WA, AZ, TX, FL, CA, UT and is a nationally approved supervisor through the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT). She takes delight in mentoring therapists on the complexities of family systems and consults with providers across the country to improve systems approaches.
