I work exclusively w/ women & LGBTQIA+ members experiencing concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, BPD, attachment & abandonment wounds, & emotional dysregulation.
Hello, I'm Ally, & I believe one of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story. Unlike traditional therapy, where it might feel like a one-sided conversation, I assure you that I'm as real as it gets! I value the power of connection and seek to experience our journey together as real people. I work hand in hand with you to identify your desires & empower you to make positive changes in your life. Taking the first step towards seeking help can be challenging, so I use an approach that is compassionate, direct, & non-judgmental.

Do you feel different and misunderstood? Does it feel like a struggle to make sense of things? As a latinx, I have often struggled to find my place in a world that feels difficult to navigate. However, nothing makes me more proud than being me, and I want to help you feel better about yourself. My work as a therapist has been guided by fierce passion and compassion. I strongly believe we all have a place in the world, and that we not only fit, but we benefit it with our presence. Safety, empathy, and understanding are values that guide my practice as we work together to heal, grow, and help you understand the world around you.

Many of us today are finding life’s challenges overwhelming, and may be feeling unsettled and anxious, or down and depressed. We may feel that our relationships are suffering, or that our deeper traumas have been triggered, making it difficult to cope.

I work collaboratively with adults struggling from depression and anxiety. Feelings of hopelessness, knowing that you are all alone, and being terrified that your life has no purpose. It takes everything in you to get out of bed in the mornings only to feel like your life is not even worth it. Fear of loosing yourself and all those who once cared about you. I get it. I understand how awful it is right now. I can help take you somewhere else.

Survivor of trauma. Struggling with addiction. Creative. Do at least two of these three describe you? If you're struggling to get sober, you're fearful about the impact sobriety might have on your creativity (and life in general). If you're in early sobriety, you're trying to gain your footing in a new landscape. If you're a trauma survivor, you're confused as to why your insight & sensitivity aren't helping you get to that light at the end of the tunnel. What do you do if your pain is too great to manage on your own?

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
