I understand that depression can be a difficult and overwhelming experience, and it's especially common among young adults, particularly women and men who are still trying to find their place in the world. Trauma, whether it is Big “T” (a reaction to a deeply disturbing, life-threatening event or situation, such as an act of violence) or Little “t” (events that typically don't involve violence or disaster but do create significant distress) leave lasting effects on us. Multiple events can also stack on this emotional weight. Leading us to develop problematic responses, negative thoughts and/or behaviors.
