Have you lost track of who you are? Do you ACTUALLY like yourself? Do you wonder if you'll EVER be good enough? Maybe you need someone to talk to who won't judge or accuse you of overthinking. The good news? You aren't crazy! Your fears ARE real, & they're making you miserable! Imagine actually having healthy relationships. Imagine being SO secure in yourself that you can set expectations high & EXCEED them. Imagine writing the script for your own life, instead of letting others do that for you. What if you could become the best version of yourself?

I am passionate about helping Millennials and Gen Z overcome hopelessness, exhaustion and self-doubt. My clients feel like they’re forcing a smile but deep down they feel depressed and defeated. It’s confusing and scary! There’s a reason for your sadness, and I want to discover where it’s coming from with you. I’ll help you shed a light on your depression so you don’t have to feel like a fraud or a crazy person. I get it, we can figure this out together. Here’s a bit more about what it’s like working with me in therapy:

Throughout our lifespan, we will be faced with transitions. Children experiences changes within the family as well as school, friends, and daily routine. Then there’s puberty, which brings about a whole new set of changes in a teenager. Early adulthood is full of change, as well as a search for meaning and purpose. Marriage, divorce, birth of children, death of parents, middle age, retirement, and on and on! Sometimes we can move through these transitions smoothly; however, other times it doesn’t go quite as well.

Taking charge of my life is something that I have worked hard to do, and something I love helping others do! So many people repeat patterns learned in the past that keep them stuck today-in addictions, negative patterns of thinking and behaving, and unhealthy relationships. Learning how to take charge of my thoughts, actions, and reactions has eliminated many of my self-defeating patterns and has made life much more peaceful, and fun! Let's free your present and your future from your past!

Ongoing stress, overwhelming feelings and anxious thoughts can leave us mentally, physically and emotionally exhausted. When these feelings go unresolved they take control of our lives and prohibit us from living to the fullest. Life can leave us with wounds from trauma, relationship patterns and unhealthy cycles we naturally fall back into. These patterns often lead to us feeling "stuck" and unsure of how to move forward.

Many benefits are possible from participating in counseling. Counseling can provide a fresh perspective on a difficult problem or point you in the direction of a solution. Counseling can help you find new ways to cope with stress, better manage anger, depression, and other emotional pressures. Get "unstuck" from past relationships and family issues--break old patterns and develop new ways of dealing with old issues. Heal old psychological wounds---repair damage from the past. Discover creative ways to problem-solve. Improve your self esteem and boost your self confidence. The overall result can be improved health and well being.

Are you the “strong” one? Are you the one everyone goes to when they need someone to talk to? Are you the one selflessly passing out advice while you silently deal with your own worries? It can be so exhausting helping everyone else with their problems while pushing your own to the side. This is all too common! It’s nice to feel needed, but how would it feel if you finally got to talk to someone? What if you had a person who was there JUST to listen to YOU. How amazing would that feel? Imagine being able to talk to someone about your own life and work things out without the disruptions of work, friends, kids, or partners.

After “curing” most of Washington DC except Congress, I moved to Fort Myers, Florida. With 24 years of private practice experience I still love this work. I’m an author and provide tv interviews upon request. Humor is an essential part of my life and my practice. Humor is an integral part of grieving, healing, recovery and problem-solving. I, therefore incorporate it into my treatment. There are a myriad of issues for which you may be seeking help. Frequently they involve problematic relationships, or relationships with ourselves. To self most of us are unforgiving and punishing. This is common and treatable.
