Hi, I'm Heather, pronouns she/they! I'm an LCSW and I have 10+ years of experience providing therapy to people who are feeling stuck, unheard, and/or trapped within our system of social norms and unrealistic expectations. I identify as queer and have worked with clients in all stages of recognizing their queerness. I also have experience working with those who have experienced trauma whether due to their sexuality, abusive relationships, upbringing, or otherwise.

Therapy begins with a faith that you came by your struggles honestly in an effort to protect yourself and make sense of the world. My specialty is helping people recover from narcissistic, physical, sexual, emotional, and spiritual abuse. In addition, I provide treatment for depression, anxiety, trauma, military family stressors and veteran transitions into the civilian sector. My hope is to provide you with an opportunity to disentangle from suffering and aide you in improving your quality of life, increase your satisfaction within relationships, and enhance your self-worth.

Clients who participate in services with me will learn a lot about themselves as well as unique ways to cope with daily stress. My approach ties in various techniques so that each client can develop their own way of healing and not feel like they’re stuck in a specific box. I’m continuously participating in education for new protocols and techniques that are proven to work for others. Ultimately, the goal in therapy for my clients is to find relief from the hurt, pain, and stress that traumatic events can cause.

I find myself drawn toward conversational-based therapy, where we are able to develop a relationship based on foundations of trust and honesty. When I say conversational-based therapy, I mean that I utilize a client-centered approach, while also using cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) to help challenge spots where you might be stuck and help you see a different perspective. At the same time, I am in no way the expert of your life and am here to help you navigate this world.

Appointments are available via telehealth or in person. I work with individuals struggling with mental health diagnoses and those navigating through difficult life situations such as grief, divorce, job loss, ADHD (adult), relationship issues, job performance and school performance issues, and those struggling with emotional eating and binge eating.
