I offer kind and affirming therapy for individuals + couples, including, but not limited to: ethical non-monogamy & poly relationships (challenging hetero-norms), breakups (romantic + friendship), healing, sexual identity development, modern app dating (swiping sucks), depression, anxiety, self-compassion/love, corporate burnout, and childfree by choice.
“I don’t need therapy, I have you guys!” - Carrie Bradshaw. Whether your friends or partner(s) have tapped out of being your therapist, or if you just need a fresh, safe space to dive deeper - I get it. I am passionate about curating an atmosphere where clients feel comfortable, understood, and heard. Most importantly, I want therapy to be a place for you to show up as your authentic self. I love my work because it was an intentional career shift! Prior to becoming a licensed psychotherapist, I enjoyed a 13 year corporate career in global marketing, leading product launches for Snapchat and Disney (hello corporate burnout!)

Hello and thanks for checking out my profile! I believe all human behavior is driven by our thoughts and feelings, and our ability to cope with our emotions. My goal is to work with you to produce positive and sustainable changes which will lead to a more content and fulfilling life. My speciality is with anxiety disorders such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, social anxiety and phobias. As most of us know, sometimes life presents challenges. These challenges could cause one to feel overwhelmed, anxious, confused, depressed or discouraged. This is when seeking help through therapy is beneficial. Have you reached a point in life where you know something needs to change, but you are uncertain of what to change or even how? So many of us face these moments where we feel like our life compass is just spinning and we have no clear direction. It feels like you are in the midst of a storm, and missing the proper equipment. Going through life's challenges with no therapy is like standing in the rain with no umbrella.

Change can feel scary and stressful. Standing at a crossroads can feel uncertain and overwhelming. Sometimes our life circumstances change, other times we decide that what we are doing now, is no longer working for us. My focus is working with people who are experiencing anxiety, depressed mood, grief, loss, addictions, trauma, PTSD, and other adjustments and life transitions. This could involve changes in relationships, family, spirituality, health, career, education, or living situation. It could include death, healing wounds and inner children, identifying and enforcing boundaries, and identifying and changing limiting beliefs.

I specially in treating anxiety disorders and eating disorders.
One of my favorite quotes from Brene Brown is "Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen". Today, more than ever, we are seeing a staggering amount of anxiety, depression and trauma in our society. It is so important for people of any age to learn skills and build resilience to cope with these challenges.Therapy provides that space for clients to work on this and to master the skills and to be empowered. I proved a warm and gentle environment for my clients to do so.

While being an HSP, does not cause anxiety or depression, it does leave us more prone to them.
Do you struggle with watching the news? Are you feeling the weight of the world? Do you feel like an alien on this planet? Are you exhausted all of the time? Do you feel completely alone, even though you are surrounded by people? That even though you ask for support, it is falling on deaf ears? Have you been labeled "too sensitive"? Are you having difficulty understanding why other people seem to be able to get all the things done that overwhelm you? Did you once have it "all together" and now things seem to be slowly slipping between your fingers? Do you seem to feel others' pain and describe yourself as an empath?

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
