My areas of specialty are couples, anxiety, depression, substance use, addiction, self-esteem, old beliefs, boundaries, communication, LGBTQ+ and individuals on the Autism spectrum.
I work with adolescents (16+), adults, LGBTQ+, families, and couples. I also work with overcoming difficult family and/or personal relationships. My ideal client is someone who is willing to push themselves to be the best they can be by facing the hard issues. Their goals are to "live out loud" as I like to say and be their most authentic selves. The healing journey is not an easy one, but a rewarding one and I promise it will be worth it. I am located in Winter Park just off I-4 so I take clients from Altamonte Springs, Casselberry, Maitland, Sanford and Lake Mary. I can see anyone in Florida virtually as well.

Sometimes the hardest thing in this world is to live in it. With all of life’s predictable and unpredictable stressors, mental health is often overlooked. Which often leads to feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and out of control of emotions. I have a passion for helping people work through these feelings to create a life worth living. I use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help adolescents and adults struggling with depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety, and low self-esteem. I also bring a strong background in working with children and adolescents on the autism spectrum to my counseling practice.

With a masters degree in both Counseling and Special Education, specializing in Autism, I believe I can connect on a deeper level with those that I help.
We all encounter pain in our own ways, but I believe at the bottom of our individual struggles lies the common ground of shame; disguising itself around thoughts of not being good enough. However, beyond this shame we have a sense of worthiness to uncover. In the process of naming our wounds and owning our story, we can find our belonging and self-worth. My hope is that my office can be a place where you can speak what feels unspeakable, and where you are seen, heard and valued. I strive to create a safe and caring space for my clients to discover the impact that different experiences and relationships can have on one's life.

I enjoy working with clients on a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, cultural adjustment, spiritual concerns, as well as ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
If you’ve been through some…stuff, welcome; you’re in the right place. If that last sentence offends you, I’m sorry, but I want to be real from the start. That said, I know how hard it can be to find a therapist who understands you, who listens to you, who challenges you, and who supports you. I know this because I’ve been in your shoes. I’ve been a client myself, and I’ve learned from my own experiences as well as from my education and training. I don't offer quick fixes or cookie-cutter solutions. I see people where others see problems, I value quality over quantity, and I believe relationships are more important than routines.

Autism Therapists
What is the most effective treatment for autism?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) has come to be considered the standard treatment for children with autism spectrum disorder, and research has confirmed its effectiveness for many children. Therapists trained in ABA techniques work with children (and their parents) on developing social skills, communication and learning abilities, and everyday habits of hygiene and grooming. The clinician will tailor their program to the child’s particular need but the overarching goal will be to help them advance as far as possible toward independence based on their level of symptoms and decrease the need for additional special services. Families should seek a mental health professional specifically trained in ABA, and holding special certification in the technique, who has extensive experience not only with the approach but in using it with children with the same level of symptoms as the child who needs care.
How does ABA work?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) sessions, which typically focus on positive reinforcement, can be intensive, lasting two or more hours several times a week, and continuing for two years or more. Therapists can also be expected to ask parents to take an active role in reinforcing lessons. Research has found that the technique can lead to major improvements that decrease the need for additional special services.
How does treatment for autism work?
Therapy sessions based on Applied Behavior Analysis will likely be frequent, intensive, and highly structured. After a thorough assessment, a therapist will help a child understand and develop skills in a range of areas, including communication, motor skills, social skills, self-care, play, and academic skills, as well as routines of daily living like hygiene. Typically, the therapist will help a child break down the components of a behavior—often referred to as the antecedent (what prompts an action), the behavior, and the consequence(what immediately follows)—and then reward the child at every step, while also asking parents to reinforce the lessons, and the rewards, throughout the day. This core therapy may be supplemented by occupational or speech therapy, and antidepressants, antipsychotics, and anticonvulsants may be prescribed to address specific severe symptoms.
How long does therapy for autism take?
Some people with autism spectrum disorder may be engaged in some level of therapy for many years, but research shows that treatment will be most effective if it is begun early and delivered intensively. When therapy begins by age 3, children tend to be better able to grasp and adopt the skills needed to manage everyday life, including attending school and establishing social relationships. This type of early-intervention treatment regimen is highly structured, typically involving 20 to 40 hours of one-on-one therapy per week, along with additional hours of engagement managed by parents, for a period of two years or more, although the duration of treatment is dependent on the child’s level of symptoms and pace of progress.
