For over fifteen years I have worked as a psychotherapist, specializing in child, adolescent, individual, and family therapy. I am passionate about helping others overcome conflicts and learn effective coping skills. Life can be hard sometimes! I have a PhD in Counseling and a Masters in Psychology, with training in Play Therapy and Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT). Although I will work with any age group, I LOVE working with teenagers! I have over 25 years of professional experience in Christian life coaching and education. I worked in an adolescent, locked, psychiatric facility, in a school (in Costa Rica), in a private school, and part-time in my church.

I enjoy working with adults, children and adolescents. I believe that the central healing factor of effective therapy is a strong therapeutic connection or relationship between the client and the therapist. My goal in therapy is to offer a safe, warm haven to the client where they feel accepted and free to express the issues that brought them to therapy. I use an eclectic approach to therapy using a variety of theories and methods to approach the needs of the individual client.

I have been a practicing counselor since 1994 and enjoy working with clients from age 6-106, although I do have a particular fondness for adolescents, especially the oppositional ones. I have worked in inpatient and outpatient settings and have helped my clients navigate the "rough waters" that they must travel through. I have worked with trauma, anxiety, depression, adolescent issues, and complex mental health issues. Growing up in a military family, I also have a fondness and appreciation for our military families and the unique challenges they face.

I am an individual, couple, and family therapist with experience helping people find solutions to a wide array of presenting problems. I specialize in working with: Teenagers and Adults struggling with self esteem issues, depression, anxiety, loss of hope, Couple and family / relationship issues dealing with family stressors, blended families, and parenting/co-parenting issues. I have worked extensively with families with child and adolescent problems. I believe the most effective and efficient way to help a person is to involve other members of their family so that the family reinforces any program of change.
