As a trained therapist using EMDR and BrainSpotting, I have witnessed the mind heal itself from anxiety and finding freedom.
Change is inevitable; no one stays the same in their life journey. I am passionate about helping others walk through the mountains and valleys in life growing stronger by building their inner strength. Each one of us has wounds and scars but they do not have to define who we are. I love working with individuals, couples, and families to draw on the positive qualities of each member in the family system in order to guide the family toward a more mentally healthier life. Connection is the secret ingredient to your overall well being. When we honor our pain by sharing it, we can heal it. Remaining silent can give power to the pain.

I graduated with a Masters in Psychology and have 4 years post masters training in Marriage and family therapy and have been trained in EMDR.
Therapy is about where you are and where you want to go. It is about acceptance of your values and the goals that you seek. Therapy doesn't have to be a long painful journey. Resolving conflicts, getting over issues, or addressing unwanted feelings should be a positive quest. I believe in short term therapy which has been successful with my Adult and Adolescent clients who experience depression, anxiety, trauma and other symptoms. Life Coaching-Therapy can help uncovering the patterns of feelings, thoughts or patterns of behavior that have interfered with our goals.

My favorite methods of therapy are Talking & Listening (You talk and I listen) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) because of its success in separating trauma and pain from past events.
Every day, a million miracles begin at sunrise! I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker. My preferred areas of therapy are: (1) Childhood trauma, PTSD and Relationships. (2) Co-Dependence, Independence & Self Esteem, (3) Senior issues, Life Integration & Ending Thoughts. Life patterns and behavior are formed in the early months and years of life. We can’t go back and change the beginning, but we CAN change the direction we are going now if we choose. Change IS possible!

Specialized certified clinicians trained in EMDR and Trauma.
The Best View Comes After the Hardest Climb. We don’t always have control of what occurs in life, what we do have is the power to choose how we will allow circumstances to impact our lives. Choosing to participate in therapy is a statement that exclaims, “I love and owe it to myself to overcome my fears, conquer my obstacles, learn to cope with life’s trials and tribulations, and finally set my mind free from worry, confusion, and uncertainty.” Allow Mindful Healing to guide you on your journey of uncovering your inner strength.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.
Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.
What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
