I focus on creating a welcoming and warm environment in order to foster a strong relationship with my clients. I strive to be culturally aware and sensitive to ensure that my clients can feel open to discuss pertinent topics with me in a non-judgmental environment. If you are searching for therapist with experience, knowledge and focus on your needs, if you are "stuck" in your current situation and don't see your way out, if problems in your relationship or marriage can't seem to be resolved, you should be kind to yourself and seek help. The pressures placed upon us by society, family and ourselves can become a heavy burden to carry alone. I practice optimizing approach to treatment using differential psycho-therapeutics. I believe in uniqueness of individual and situation therefore my approach is the following: different patients - different therapies.

As a counselor, my goal is to help you through life’s transitions towards healing, self-discovery, and wellness. We are all human, and part of humanity is learning how to exist and cope in an ever-changing world. We've all felt joy, fear, loss, anxiety, and sadness; we are all a part of the human experience and we've all adapted many ways of coping through it. I'm committed to walking beside you through your journey, lending a listening ear and offering a sounding board for your internal dialogue. I am not here to change you or fix you, but to help you grow and thrive.

People often want to discuss their anxiety and stress related to life transitions, or the concerns they have about coping in ways that no longer work or that have become problematic. They often want to talk with a caring professional who can help them understand what they are going through and why. Some may want to learn new strategies for coping, and at times, find the motivation to change some of their old behaviors for a new and better life.

I utilize a solution-focused, strength-based approach characterized by empathy, compassion, and acceptance.
I help women create the lives they want and improve their relationships with themselves and with others. Are you a woman who feels there’s never enough time to get everything done? Do you often feel disconnected from who you really are and the life you were meant to live? Maybe your life has taken an unexpected turn and you’re feeling overwhelmed and unorganized, stuck and unbalanced. Maybe you’ve been trying to make some changes on your own, but it’s not working. I understand, and I can help.

Your greatest pain doesn't have to be your greatest shame. Areas of suffering can produce growth in your life. Do you feel you are not enough or you are too much, you don't matter, you don't measure up, you are a failure, or you are unlovable? Do you feel insecure, unfulfilled, lonely, misunderstood, doing whatever you must to be liked and not rejected or maybe you can't understand why others are so needy and seem to want more than you can or want to give? Do you wish you understand WHY you feel, act, worry, stress and relate to others the way you do but you don't know how?

I utilize multiple treatment modalities including attachment theory, somatic work, ACT, CBT, mindfulness, practicing coping skills.
It's time. You've taken care of everyone and everything else, hoped the issues you struggle with would just disappear with time, but that hasn't happened. Change is often so hard to navigate alone. I believe in the power of coming together with purpose. For the last 15 years, I have worked with individuals and couples who've felt stuck for years because of a traumatic past, and have felt unworthy, anxious and depressed. I'm passionate about helping you finally work through what happened to you and the struggles you face today, so that you can honestly connect with yourself and others and pursue the life you want.

I am very passionate about helping people develop healthy relationships with themselves, practicing acceptance and forgiveness, and creating an internal environment that allows joy.
Does it feel like no matter how hard you try you find yourself wondering if things will ever change? You wonder if it’s just you if other people go through this. You might even be really nervous about hitting the cont act button because after all only “crazy” people go to therapy. Here’s a little secret all therapists have to go to their own therapy before they can graduate from school. We know what it's like to be on both sides of the screen or room

I utilize interventions and principles from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT), and follow a trauma-informed approach.
You may have a desire to heal from painful experiences but need guidance on how to start. You may feel overwhelmed trying to manage life's ups and downs. Or maybe you are going through a big change in your life and find yourself struggling to manage it. I work and connect well with adult and young adult women that have been exposed to traumatic experiences and/or are currently struggling to manage life transitions (i.e., relationship separations, loss of a loved one, loss of a job, and going to college). Whichever your situation is, you don't have to go manage these challenges alone and I'd be glad to help.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists

How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?

The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?

Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?

A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
