I believe everyone needs to be respected and honored in this world. The growing up process has caused people to have and develop coping behaviors and strategies that are harmful to self and others. I view psychotherapy or counseling as a professional relationship between the therapist and client. As a client begins talking about their life, I, the therapist walks with you through your world. I will ask questions to further understand your world. Then ideas will be explored for life enhancement and positive change.

I have a great deal of experience with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and addiction. I enjoy working with clients who are motivated to change, learn, and develop new skills. Honesty helps the process tremendously! I enjoy working with them because I have so many tips and techniques that I have seen work, and that gives me a great deal of motivation and drive to help them!

The purpose of therapy is to take what you have learned and apply it outside. It is not always easy to make changes, and change can be scary, but once you put your words into action, the change can be beautiful. I have worked with people who struggle with substance use issues, depression, anxiety, and families. I have a passion for working with people in the BiPOC community. I want my clients to believe in themselves and what they can accomplish without needing external validation. My goal is for you to feel confident in your decision-making to process your needs/issues without relying on others.

Lori has specialized in mood disorders and substance use in teens and young adults since 2016, and has since gained specialization in other addictive and manipulative behaviors such as personality disorders, parasuicidal tendencies, suicidal behaviors and eating disorders. Lori is currently only working with ages 13 and up, and is happy to offer a Christian counseling approach upon request. Special treatment approaches and accommodations will be necessary for those with a specific focus on disordered eating. Parent involvement with minors is required when necessary.

Kelly has her master’s degree in Marriage, Couples and Family therapy and is a registered mental health counselor intern. She also is a nationally board-certified music therapist and values incorporating creativity and expressive arts into her work for clients who may benefit.
