Hello. Thank you for your interest in my profile on Psychology Today. I am a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist in Boca Raton, Florida where I maintain a private practice. I treat my clients as whole human beings and speak to them from my soul. This authentic approach allows clients to feel the safety and security needed to make the therapeutic changes that they so desire. My field training was done in a multi modal treatment center in Los Angeles, CA. They prided themselves on connection and this value is embedded in the work that I do with my clients.

I think that we need to be the safest when we are able to be with ourselves. I have also found that life has the ability to make that hard at times and through my own journey of struggling and learning about my mental health, I learned a lot about being human. I don't believe that we are born resilient, I believe it is built into us through getting knocked down and learning different ways of getting back up. This isn't always fun but it's always worth it. I am all about empowering my clients to learn who they are, so they can better love themselves, and be better able to obtain and maintain a happier and healthier life.

I come with 35 years experience working with couples, individuals, and adolescents. It takes great courage to take the initial step to enter therapy and to take responsibility for change. I am aware that everyone wants their story to be heard and I offer a safe, non-judgmental, compassionate space to meet you where you are. I am of the perspective that we are more than our stories. There is a deeper truth to our beings and our existence that is yearning to be revealed

I have been in private practice for the past forty years working with individuals, couples and groups. Presently I am a relationship specialist for both couples and singles, specializing in infidelity and communication issues. I teach skill-based love because without good communication and conflict resolution skills, people act out with affairs rather than acting in and talking. I love working with couples " on the brink" no matter how hopeless a situation may feel. After an affair, a couple can create a better relationship than they had before. Healing and growth are possible. I want to help to make your relationships better.

My passion is helping individuals and couples create deeper levels of emotional and sexual intimacy. In adults, romantic love can only be truly enjoyed when partners are able to feel safe and secure in turning to each other for their needs. My role as a therapist is to create a safe and supportive space where you can explore unfamiliar and uncomfortable emotional experiences, without feeling blame, shame or judgment.

As a Clinical Psychologist, I believe that change occurs within the individual through understanding and awareness of the issue. By viewing the therapist as a warm, accepting participant, one can develop trust and allow the process of self-exploration to begin. Throughout the process of psychotherapy, the patient can learn about the parts of themselves that remain hidden and out of their awareness. More specifically, aspects of themselves that contribute to their difficulties and prevent personal growth.

Facing difficulties in life can seem overwhelming, seeking therapy is a courageous first step in your journey for emotional wellness. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Board Certified Art Therapist, certified in EMDR, I work from a client centered, strength based methodology to address personal life challenges. I believe in a collaborative approach, assisting clients find meaning from their struggle and create a path towards healing. If you seek to maximize your potential, feel more confident and make choices that you are not sure about, I will help you learn how to listen to yourself and connect to what you already know but maybe not yet aware of. If some of your relationships don't seem to work out, and it is not clear to you - why - we'll try to find out what gets on your way and prevents you from being truly connected to the people you want to be connected to.

We all need someone to talk to! Life can be challenging and sometimes just reaching out for "a soft place to land" can be very beneficial. I have been in practice for many years and have worked with various age populations. Although the mind and body goes through some aging processes, the central themes typically remain the same: sadness over losses- spouses, children, friends, finances and our changing bodies. We experience common feelings of loneliness, fearfulness, isolating, and adjusting to the new "norm" for each of us. We can explore these feelings together. With my patients we focus on their individual needs and strengths.

“It is the Events in our lives that Shape Us. It is our Choices that Define Us.” My approach to healing offers the ability to change our character, personality, and our behavior. I will also offer the ability to understand the character, personality, and behavior of others who impact your life. I find this thorough examination of each of these aspects to be necessary in order to make sustained changes that will recreate an authentic self who has the courage to live a healthy and happy life.
