Want to improve your sexual relationship? Your couples relationship? Your relationship with yourself? We have so little guidance in these areas. This is unfortunate when there are simple ways to transform a sexual relationship into a truly intimate one, a couples relationship into a truly cooperative one, and a relationship with yourself into a deeply meaningful and lifelong adventure. As an AASECT-certified and Masters & Johnson-trained sex and relationship therapist, and as a depth oriented-trained psychologist, I can help with intensive couples therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and individual, meaning-oriented therapy.

Welcome! It has been said that "our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful parts of us. (Richo)" For over 25 years, I have been helping people examine and heal their wounds. My work has been with those encountering illness, aging, grief, men's issues and addictions to sexuality and pornography. With a mixture of respect and compassion, I offer my clients a spiritual perspective utilizing Jungian thought and an eclectic modality.

Throughout my work in substance abuse and behavioral health, My focus has been helping those who struggle with addiction, while resolving underlying issues such as mental illness, trauma, grief, fractured relationships, self-esteem issues, and unhealthy boundaries. I understand that to truly move forward, an individual must free themselves from the past.

Often times in therapy, issues are addressed superficially only. This leads to a recurrence of episodes where the patient seems to improve but never really resolve their issues. A psychodynamic approach targets the roots of the problems, not simply the symptoms. My aim is the core, the starting point of it all, and from there work to resolve whatever else stems from that origin. My goal is for the patient to live a wholesome, functional, but above all, a meaningful life.

As a therapist, I want to help co-create your ideal life. I believe that therapy is meant to empower you with confidence and equip you with the therapeutic tools that are the right fit for you. Therapy can be seen as a quilt - it may take some time to weave together the different, intricate components of our lives to gain a clearer, more enriched understanding of ourselves. You may be coming into therapy with issues that represent scars from the past that may have never healed. Through self-reflection, patience, and self-compassion we can work together to find realistic and healing solutions to your presenting concerns.

What a human thing you are going through right now. It is nearly impossible to get through a human life without depression, anxiety, grief, and trauma. We don't have the same story but we are not immune to the human experience. Oftentimes, it takes a lot of unlearning unhelpful patterns and our early conditioning to become well. Resolving the root cause of the suffering. What does help look like to you? How do you know when you are "feeling better" and therapy is working? What does "better" even look like? These are important questions when working with a clinical therapist, to hold the light onto, and when getting to know yourself.

Great artist say after a period of sadness comes, they create the most significant works of art. Life challenges such as change of job/ career transition, divorce can lead to a richer life with unforeseen opportunities for fulfillment. Loss is universal and can take many forms including the loss of a loved one. Loss is a difficult journey and often diminished by society. The time it takes to work through life challenges and change can be difficult without support. Self care and coping strategies during transitions can help you heal and lower stress for your current challenge, and give you life skills for all change.

Jungian Therapists

How does Jungian therapy work?

Jungian therapy, also called analytical psychology, focuses on a patient’s inner experiences and unconscious mind. Exploring a person’s unconscious mind can be achieved through several means, including the analysis of memories and dreams, and through physical exercises, such as art, dance, and word association.

How long does Jungian therapy last?

Jungian therapy is an intensive treatment type. Because its goal is to understand a person as a whole, including the unconscious aspects of them, treatment can range from months to years. Since patients learn the theory behind Jungian therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have completed.

Is Jungian therapy effective?

According to studies, many patients find success with Jungian therapy, and the century-old treatment has a devoted following. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. Improvements in problem areas seem to continue even after the end of Jungian therapy, as people are able to continue working on themselves using the tools they’ve learned during the treatment.

Is Jungian therapy evidence-based?

Jungian therapy is theory-based, derived from the theories of Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist often called one of the fathers of psychology, along with Sigmund Freud. Jung developed his theories from observing the problems of patients, and developed many theories of how the mind works. Subsequent psychological research has determined that Jungian therapy can lead to significant improvement in most patients.
