Many struggle with life issues, however when issues arise that are very difficult to resolve, the insight of a compassionate and objective professional can be very beneficial. The issues that arise in life are as varied as the individuals experiencing them causing one to feel overwhelmed, unhappy and dissatisfied. It is my hope that you will pursue the peace and purpose in life that you deserve.

I seek to destigmatize mental healthcare for all populations and provide a safe space where my clients feel seen and heard to navigate their relationships with themselves and others. As a South Asian American and daughter of immigrants, I have first hand experience of the deep effects that family of origin and cultural conflicts have on your lived experiences. I provide support for my clients in being their authentic selves and help them develop the skills they need to thrive. I want my clients to have an empathetic space to explore their challenges, process their thoughts and emotions, and experience healing.

I know it can feel so isolating to experience anxiety, depression, or just mental health concerns you cannot explain. Although many people experience these things, healing is best fostered in relationships. Together, we can help that "loud speaker" put the microphone away.

Have you noticed a change in your child's behavior? Are you looking for tools to assist your child's overall well being? I have a passion for working with children, teens, and families to assist with various life stressors that may be present. Taking the first step is one of the most difficult to take. Seeking help can be overwhelming, stressful, or bring up various emotions, but once the step is taken you will be greeted with compassion, support, and empathy. Children and adolescents are often times forgotten about or even overlooked, but I believe their mental health is just as important as others.

People choose to come to therapy for so many reasons. They feel overwhelmed, tired, stuck, or numb. As a therapist, I aim to provide a nonjudgmental space for people to feel and be understood. Oftentimes, the things keeping us stuck are the strategies we've developed over time to cope with hardship. Therapy is about addressing what is no longer working for you and connecting with your inner wisdom to develop new ways of relating to yourself & the world. I work with my clients to cultivate emotional awareness, learn skills to respond adaptively to difficult emotions, and increase connection within themselves and their relationships.

My areas of interest include teenagers and families, young adults, couples, and people who have experienced divorce. I believe in meeting clients where they are and with whatever they bring into the counseling space. You will often hear me say therapy is the place we discover more “data” about ourselves. I believe gathering knowledge and understanding about ourselves, helps us better understand and love the people around us.

Hi there, I'm Katie. I work with individuals and couples by helping them connect with themselves and others in new and meaningful ways. I view therapy as a mix of insight and action - a blend of curiosity, empathy, and mindfulness coupled with practicing how to show up differently, and sometimes, a (little) challenge.

There is a time for everything: weeping, joy, loss, recovery, fear, courage. We are consistently suspended between opposing life forces that can make us, at times, feel anxious, depressed, and alone. My goal as your therapist is to offer you support by helping you find ways of navigating through darkness and illuminating the beauty in each phase of your life. I am committed to helping you build a healthier relationship with yourself and others by targeting ineffective behaviors, habits, beliefs, and problematic narratives. I believe in taking a collaborative approach to help you reach your goals in therapy. This is your time!

Heartbreak is a "sucker punch" to the soul. It often feels like our hearts are tiny shards of shattered dreams spilled onto the floor. Too often we stay in heartbreak and grief because it hurts to accept the loss of love and the life we envisioned for our future. Happiness and joy are also part of living a vulnerable, authentic, full life and loving ourselves. If you are struggling to accept the loss of a loved one or a cherished relationship, I'd love to help you process and release your emotional pain, and start creating a life of joy, happiness, and abundance.

I specialize in Trauma/EMDR and Codependency/Attachment issues, seeing both couples and individuals. Trauma (i.e. repressed emotion and negative self-belief) manifests in psychological, emotional, and behavioral patterns that can be incredibly distressing. I've seen this poison relationships, where it presents as codependency, infidelity, addiction, and emotional neglect. In individuals it shows up as disordered eating/eating disorders (body dysmorphia, binge eating disorder, anorexia), OCD/anxiety, depression/anger issues, CPTSD, substance abuse disorders, and mood disorders. We'll start with the most distressing problem first!

I also provide parenting & child therapy, as well as specialized support for women experiencing pregnancy complications (such as postpartum, loss, and infertility).
It is easy to get “stuck” in life. Stuck in our negative thought loops, stuck in our past traumas, and stuck in the pattern of living as our younger selves. The goal of therapy is to experience movement in your life as you begin to apply the skills that challenge automatic thoughts, examine the origins of your behaviors, and gain an overall better understanding of the Self. My job is to help translate and untangle the messages we received in our past that are no longer serving us today. I believe in a holistic approach that examines the connection of our mental well-being with our physical health.

I have been practicing in the Nashville area for over 15 years. In addition to completing specialized training as a mediator, I also utilize NVC to bring skillful communication techniques into my practice, have Level II EMDR training for trauma, and have experience in assisting people in difficult relationships, addiction, and life transition. I believe each person is unique, has their own set of strengths, needs and values; I believe therapy is a collaborative effort between client and therapist.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
