My approach to treatment is a supportive, validating and compassionate one, incorporating various styles of practice including insight oriented, relational, Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT) and/or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Each individual has his or her own needs and preferences. This could include either a goal specific, time limited treatment or an insight oriented approach in which they are looking for a space to make meaning of various experiences and understand their impact on the self. A comfortable, trusting, and collaborative therapeutic relationship is an essential foundation necessary to make the changes one of looking for.
My areas of practice include but are not limited to mood, anxiety and personality disorders, psychological trauma, loss, relational conflicts, emotional dysregulation, self-harm, HIV/AIDS, and general work/school related stress. My approach is thoughtful, insight oriented and/or skills based depending on what the individual is looking for.
