Have you ever felt ashamed? Ever felt like others don’t understand you, but say they do? Those have been my own experiences and have led me to work with people in recovery and their families, survivors of domestic violence/abuse, minority communities and teens. I come from a multi-cultural family with an immigrant parent which has both enriched my life and created unique struggles for me. These experiences, however, have helped me empathize with a wide variety of people and situations. My goals are to support my clients as they navigate their struggles and find hope and strength within themselves.
My approach is trauma-informed and person-centered with an eclectic style. I utilize a lot of experiential methods, as well as traditional talk therapy such as CBT, Mindfulness, and Attachment-based approaches. I am also trained in EMDR, TF-CBT, IFS, motivational interviewing and sand tray. I love to laugh and integrate humor in my work.
I am the mom of three teenage boys who each have their own personality. I find parenting and marriage to be rewarding and exhausting and I believe it is okay to say that. We are faced with issues that have never existed 10 years ago and that can make life difficult. I believe people are their own heroes and just need some support, skills and guidance.
