If you are searching for a closer connection with your partner or family member, or if you are interested in learning something new about yourself, join me, and we can explore it together.
Whether I’m working with individuals, couples, or families, I tell them all the same thing: It takes two to tango. I don’t focus on pointing fingers at who is wrong in the situation. Instead, I guide my clients to collaborate with each other to find a solution together as a team. I push my individuals to expand their insights to find growth in themselves and in others. In today’s society, there is a stigma around therapy that inhibits most from reaching out for help. Learning about ourselves is something we should enjoy, not something we fear.

During therapy, we will attempt to understand patterns and connections to the current issues you or your family may be facing.
Often times, individuals and families struggle with issues beyond understanding or don't have an individual to provide an unbiased approach to life's problems. Sometimes those seeking therapy have a support system that doesn't know how to best assist in their issues. Some individuals don't have a support system and need help navigating isolation. Some couples want to feel heard, validated, and respected by their partner and struggle with communication. In all, therapy can provide a safe place for positive growth to occur as individuals, families, and couples work to achieve healthier approaches to a majority of life's problems.

As you nourish your own soul through counseling, you will be of more loving service to family, relatives, and friends during this time of uncertainty and change.
Licensed in Virginia and West Virginia, too! Do you long to find moments of peace amidst the current chaos? Changing your beliefs and perceptions can help you move from fear to peace and personal power. I work with individuals and couples, including those in non-monogamous relationships and those living alternative lifestyles. I especially welcome people who want to feel more comfortable in their own skin and who have a lifelong sense of not belonging. In addition, I work with people facing spiritual/religious conflicts and challenges. All who wish to look for opportunities in crisis are welcome!

I have been providing individual, group, family, and couples counseling for over a decade.
The primary goal of counseling is to provide the most effective therapeutic experience available to you. The purpose is to help facilitate behavior change by improving the client's ability to establish and maintain relationships, enhancing the client's effectiveness and ability to cope, promoting the decision-making process, and facilitating client potential and development. Clinicians cannot fix other people's problems; our job is to provide a safe and supportive environment that allows the individual an opportunity to build the necessary skills needed to make better choices in their life.

Prior experience centers around anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, life transitions, relationship/social issues, family dynamics, school/executive functioning as well as navigating chronic illness, disability & special needs.
Life can feel really overwhelming sometimes. Maybe you haven’t felt like yourself lately, or you’re more stressed and anxious than usual. The pressures of work, school, relationships, & life changes can weigh on us. If you’re feeling stuck and unsure how to move forward, therapy can provide a safe space to explore options and gain knowledge. My approach is warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental, with the aim to help clients feel seen and heard.

I am a Licensed Social Worker with a passion for decreasing the stigma surrounding mental health and promoting the health and well being of my clients. For my undergraduate degree, I moved from Central Jersey (Yes! It exists!) to South Jersey to attend Stockton University. I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work with a Minor in Behavioral Neuroscience from Stockton, and then moved on to attend graduate school in Philadelphia. I received my Master of Social Work Degree with a clinical concentration from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice in May of 2020.

Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
