Do you wish you had someone to talk to who won't judge you? Do you try to talk to your friends but they only half listen or push their own agenda? Are you hiding part of yourself because you are afraid of what people will think or say? Do you feel anxious or distracted? Does your mind race all the time? Do you feel sad or like you don't care anymore? Do you just wish someone could help you straighten out your thoughts? Do you have issues from your past that are affecting your present? Do you just wish you liked yourself more? Do you just want someone you can talk to about anything? Send me an email and hopefully we can work together

My expertise includes anxiety, relationship concerns (friends, family, and romantic), body image concerns, grief, spirituality, depression, guided meditations, and body-centered therapy.
“And how do you feel about that!?” ---Says every TV comedy-bit depicting therapy. In reality, it can be intimidating to share our true feelings with another person- especially with a (virtual) stranger. In therapy sessions, I therefore create a warm, safe, empathetic, non-judgmental, space to unpack your story. I view you as an expert on yourself and will encourage you to honor your own inner wisdom. I value processing your unique context and how intersectional identities and structures of oppression contribute to your distress.  My goal is to illuminate the root causes of your pain and to help guide you towards healing and growth.

Whether you’ve experienced abandonment, childhood trauma, chronic loss, family conflict, estrangement, or high-control religious environments, these experiences can deeply shape how you see yourself and connect with others. It’s common for this to show up as ADHD, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, anger, grief, low self-esteem, or shame, impacting both your well-being and relationships. As a sex-positive queer therapist, I’m here to support women and LGBTQ+ individuals carrying the weight of past trauma and toxic stress. While trauma often begins in relationships, healing can happen there, too—with care, compassion, and support.

I mostly approach my work using a foundational orientation based in systemic and family systems theories that understand the patterns and interactions of our current and generational relationships.
Are you struggling with life balance since your loved one has become ill? Are you now caring for an aging parent that didn't take care of you? Is talking with your family about your aging loved one challenging or stressful? As we age, so do our families of origin. Sometimes we are called back to our families of origin to help aging family members - like our siblings or parents. This can be challenging for many people. When we are called back to help, things like old wounds, family dysfunction and confusion on where to go for help can arise. Therapy can help bring clarity.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
