I am a wife and mother and when I am not working, I enjoy time with my family, movies, board games, outdoors, travel, learning about nutrition, and listening to positive, encouraging music.
I believe that good therapy can provide a renewed sense of hope and purpose in today’s world. I am passionate about helping people make positive, meaningful changes in their lives. I provide a safe and empowering space as I listen to your story and then together we create the path that leads to improved self-love, acceptance, healing, contentment, and purposeful living. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and enjoy utilizing this treatment modality in helping clients who desire to heal from trauma and/or various limiting, negative core beliefs about self.

My approach is equally informed by evidence-based practices (including EMDR, CBT, Internal Family Systems) as it is in my collaborative work with your unique growth process.
I specialize in helping you to find a joyful, balanced, and grounded life. I believe the most effective route to change and healing is through connection - both within yourself and in relationships with others. Navigating transitions, relationships, and challenges can be complicated - and anxiety and depression make things difficult. In sessions we address painful feelings and experiences, resulting in increased happiness and better relationships. We will work together to uncover your authentic self, build tools to create change, and tune into your innate resiliency.

I specialize in Trauma, Couples Counseling, and Self Worth. My therapy style is intuitive and grounded in a gentle approach using Internal Family Systems (IFS). I don’t just want to help you by listening, but by helping you get curious about your thoughts, emotions, body sensations and limiting beliefs. In couples work, the quality of our relationships with other people is very dependent on the relationship with our own self.

I will support you with a strengths-based approach, specializing in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Accelerated Response Therapy (ART).
I understand that when we meet for the first time you won’t be on your A game. That’s ok. I’m ready to give you and your family the benefit of the doubt and meet you right where you are at. I believe those things you may label as weakness or failure make sense in light of what you have been through. Don’t give up! Growth, change and healing are possible. I’ve experienced them in my own life, and I am privileged to watch them unfold in the lives of others every day.

I am trained in (EMDR) and I also have experience using aspects of Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Relapse Prevention Therapy (RPT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
One of my goals with therapy is to help others find meaning in their lives. It can be difficult when one feels as if they are not healthy emotionally or mentally. I work to have a good natured approach and strong connection that can help me assist clients in finding positive aspects in themselves and in building resiliency and strength. I have worked with a wide-ranging populace of clients and have expertise in working with trauma. I believe that the key to good therapy is the relationship, and I am a person-centered therapist, yet I work with any different modalities, depending on each individuals needs.

I use Imago Relationship Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help my clients find the healing they are looking for.
There is nothing more painful than being in a relationship, but feeling totally alone. “It shouldn’t be this way” you tell yourself. You’re lonely, and it scares you. You never saw the relationship going this way. You used to be really happy. Really in love. Somewhere a long the way, things changed. You find yourself thinking, “How did we get here?” Relationships are hard. I know it may feel hopeless that things will ever be the same. I help couples and individuals whose past experiences with trauma, infidelity, childhood wounds, and sexual issues prevent them from having the fulfilled and satisfying relationships they long for.

I know what it's like to struggle with the challenges of family, aging, grief, divorce, loss, anxiety, relationships, life transitions, career, self fulfillment and purpose. Married for over 44 years, having owned a family business, I learned firsthand how to find purpose and peace in the midst of stress, confusion, loss, anxiety and grief. I draw on personal experiences of raising children, marriage, owning a business, aging, loss of loved ones, major life transitions, depression, anxiety, addiction and stress. These life experiences give me a unique understanding and ability to help clients overcome similar challenges.

Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
