Hello! Thanks for visiting my profile. I’m originally from Philadelphia and now based in Baltimore. I am licensed in both Maryland and Texas (where I previously lived and went to graduate school). I have worked in the social services field for over 15 years and have been a licensed social worker and practicing therapist for 5 years. Most of my experience has consisted of working with survivors of violence (family, intimate partner, and/or sexual violence) as well as with Spanish-speaking immigrants. I enjoy working with caregivers and their children and with mixed status immigrant families.

I also incorporate mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems, and creative modalities, depending on each client's needs and preferences.
Feeling burned out, overwhelmed, or just not like yourself? Maybe you're questioning your purpose or choices. Perhaps you're having a tough time meeting everyone's needs—including your own—or struggling to define them in the first place. These are the kinds of spaces and ideas that I thrive in helping clients explore. In my practice, I most enjoy working with young adult and adult clients experiencing life transitions, grief and loss, relationship struggles, anxiety, depression, chronic and acute illness, and caregiver stress, particularly those caring for a parent.

My unique approach is effective and efficient, leading to lasting change in parenting, family life, and your own emotional well-being.
As a certified NLP Practitioner and HeartBreath Practitioner in-training, I help parents feel calmer, more confident, and more connected to themselves and their children, using a unique combination of conscious parenting techniques, breathwork, and nervous system regulation work. By uncovering and addressing the emotional patterns that are holding you back, we will rewire your brain around healthier beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors, so you can respond instead of react to your child's challenging behaviors. In a short period of time, I will help you parent from a place of peace, feeling in control of your own emotions.

I also provide family and parent support.
Children, adolescents and young adults sometimes experience stress related to school, activities, challenges at home, or periods of transition. These stressors may lead to mood swings, changes in behavior and difficulty expressing emotions and thoughts. My role as a therapist is to help kids and young adults cope with stress and learn strategies to maintain an emotionally balanced life. I provide a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and then work with individuals and families to develop an individualized treatment plan that draws from the client's existing strengths. I utilize evidence-based treatment primarily drawing from CBT.

Throughout this process, you will be supported and listened to non-judgementally while being supplied with skills you can use to improve negative thinking, ease anxiety and depressive symptoms, navigate grief or loss, trauma, life changes, self-discovery, LGBT challenges, women's issues, non-monogamous/kink related struggles, family dynamics and more.
Hello! Therapy and choosing to engage with oneself on an intimate and vulnerable level can be an intimidating and frustrating experience, but making that decision, for yourself, can ultimately be one of the most rewarding things you can do. Choosing to know yourself and be compassionate towards your behavior and experiences can lead to not only tangible change but also fulfillment and a more well-rounded and positive outlook on life.

Therapy is an opportunity for an individual, a couple or a family to learn about themselves in ways that are ultimately strengthening. It can be hard to be hopeful when you are in crisis, feeling helpless, confused, and in pain. I think these periods of struggle can be useful in identifying how you think, behave, and relate to yourself and others in ways that may be ineffectual. While there are mental health situations that require medical intervention, I believe it is also possible through therapy to develop the self-awareness and skills necessary to feel better, and stay well.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
