Batterer's Intervention Program (KY Approved)
The Batterer's Intervention Program (BIP) is focused on stopping violence and victimization in the home. Domestic violence creates a situation that destroys families. The BIP works to educate and teach coping skills to make healthier families. This is a 28 session group (14 individual sessions if group membership is not recommended). BIP focuses on power and control with an emphasis on personal responsibility. Anger management and safety planning are incorporated to prepare for a healthier relationship. The effects of domestic violence on children and the generational transfer of violence are emphasized to regain the role of a nurturing parent.
