Dr. Skolnik is a NYS Licensed Psychologist who received his doctorate in Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has extensive experience both assessing and treating children, adolescents, and adults in private and school settings. While trained and grounded in Cognitive-Behavior therapy, Dr. Skolnik incorporates a variety of evidence-based treatments to individualize a plan based on the needs and goals of each person he works with.
His approach ranges from working directly with the client to build and apply self-awareness and skills to overcome their presenting issues. Special areas of interest comprise: Trauma, adult stress reduction, along with concerns such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, Autism Spectrum disorders, and behavioral disorders.
My approach is very collaborative. Establishing trust is the first step. We will then work together on setting goals for individuals and/or families to reach their fullest potential or have relief from their struggles.
