Helping kids with medically traumatic procedures
(Please contact Atkinson Family Practice in Amherst for more information and to register.) This 5-week class will be co-taught with a doctor at AFP this November, 2023. We will look at how kids experience medical procedures in potentially traumatic ways, what lifelong and harmful narratives can develop, and what parents can do to help their kids--and themselves!--through it all. Class size will be limited.

Parenting Workshops: Truly Understanding Kids
If you’re a parent, then you know that little kids often don’t make complete sense. They act bizarrely and their emotions are erratic, even bewildering. This online, 5-week workshop (for parents of kids 1-7 years old) helps you understand your kid's behavior, as well as the complex and often contradictory emotions that drive the behavior. Given this understanding, we'll then explore how to respond to your child in a way that both helps her and nurtures your relationship. Class size is limited to 10. For more information and to register for upcoming workshops, please contact me.
