Receiving a diagnosis for yourself or a loved one with cancer or other chronic illness, can be quite overwhelming and frightening. I have been practicing in the mental health field since 1993. I have spent the past 29 years working within the hospice, welfare, and headstart settings. I recently became a breast cancer survivor and have shifted my practice to focus on working with others dealing with such a difficult time in their lives.
