My training as a social worker is centered around a strength-based and empowering approach. I serve adults (18 and older) who are struggling with challenges such as depression, anxiety, relationship/life changes, chronic health conditions, grief and loss, and chronic and/or complex trauma. Non-appropriate referrals would include those currently struggling with significant substance misuse or would benefit from long term therapeutic care with case management. A primary approach of my work is based on Polyvagal Theory and therefore taking a deep look at the nervous system to promote regulation is also integrated into the sessions.
My belief is that we all have wise intuition to guide ourselves. Time is spent exploring the interplay of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors with an undercurrent of self-compassion and a Polyvagal lens. Modalities used include IFS, Mindfulness, and Psychoeducation. It would be an honor to hold the space as you come back home to the truest version of yourself.
