My ideal client would seek therapy for their issues with processing trauma and acknowledging poor coping skills (such as addictions or low participation in life) used in the past to manage symptoms. They would want to use a cognitive behavioral approach to identify their cognitive distortions and negative thinking patterns and bring awareness and change to their behaviors.
I offer a person-centered approach that motivates the person to identify room for change and process what has been affecting their mood and behaviors. This approach combines motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy.
