My name is Erika Lin and I am a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I believe that who we are today is shaped by our past experiences and relationships. I like to work with my clients to recognize, identify, and change patterns in their lives in order to work towards the life they wish to live! I come from a family systems-based background and I work with clients to identify and make changes in their relationships and environment to achieve long-lasting change. I often utilize a systems approach, such as structural family therapy. I also utilize an emotionally-focused and attachment-based approach to therapy.
I love to work with children ages 5 to teens as well as young adults. I typically work with individuals struggling with depression, and anxiety, or those who need guidance around family issues or life transitions. My goal is for clients to feel the space is comforting, hopeful, and productive to work towards the changes they want in their lives.
I find it important to set clear, realistic, and attainable goals for clients. I make sure goals are set at the start of treatment in order for myself and the client to come to an agreement on what to expect. I like to review goals with clients at every session to make sure our time together is beneficial.
