Life can be experienced in various degrees of openness or constriction in one’s existence. When you live life in relative openness to yourself and the world around you, suffering is typically minimal. This is the realm of health and happiness. When you begin to experience a constriction in your openness to yourself or the world around you, suffering begins to color your existence. This is the realm of illness and pain, wherein people often seek help from others. If your life has become constricted in some way, it is my job to help your reestablish an openness to life.
My therapeutic approach is primarily existential and involves exploring the unique ways that you confront and respond to experiences. Within this therapeutic framework, a your struggles are given the freedom to reveal themselves in the context of your unique history and current way of living life.
As I see it, the goal of therapy is to empower you with a sense of freedom to (re)discover possibilities and regain the ability to make and enact fulfilling choices. I help facilitate this goal by helping you identify and resolve incongruencies in how you live your life.
