My practice is inspired by my belief that all people deserve to live fulfilling, safe, and pleasurable lives. I work in collaboration with my clients, helping them to achieve whatever contentment looks like for them from a down-to-earth and light-hearted stance of humility, non-judgment, curiosity, and compassion. Together, we will make space for your feelings (even the most rejected ones), search beyond stigmatizing labels to pinpoint root causes of symptoms, create a plan for achieving your goals, and develop skills for you to cope with the present. I welcome clients questioning their identities or seeking to heal old wounds.
My approach is anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, sex-positive, and relational, integrating psychodynamic therapy, CBT/DBT, the Gottman Method for use with couples, and mindfulness. I am trained in EMDR for trauma work, and I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ folks, the alt-sex community, and survivors of violence, neglect, or abuse.
Whether you need help navigating a current crisis or confronting an unwanted pattern of thinking or acting, or if you’re just curious to dig deep into the past to discover what motivates you in the present, I would be honored to work with you as a co-investigator.
