This can bring up challenges and even opportunities, but having a trustful ear is something I hope to be for you. The relationship building stage of therapy is important to me, as I aspire to tailor my therapeutic approach to your needs and find what best fits your personality, history, culture, and lifestyle.
Through a trauma-informed approach, I hope to create a safe space for you to process and recover from abuse and neglect, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, or to learn new coping skills. I have experience and training in mindfulness-based interventions, trauma-focused therapies, multiculturalism counseling, behavioral therapies, and expressive arts/music.
Being a person of color myself, I understand what it’s like to go through areas in life feeling unsafe, uncomfortable, and just unsure where to turn. It is essential to have an environment built on trust and security to help you heal, and also to thrive.
