Have you tried therapy before, but found that it didn't quite work for you? Maybe you stayed with one therapist for too long and never saw the results you were looking for. Or maybe you found that "just talking" about your problems was not moving you toward the change you were hoping to make. If you are hungry for personal growth and willing to work at it, the breakthrough you're seeking is within reach. At Brooklyn Somatic Therapy, we integrate a mindfulness-based, experiential and somatic approach to psychotherapy.
I began practicing as a psychotherapist after decades of experience in dance, yoga, and various movement-based modalities. My therapeutic lens is informed by studies in social work, psychoanalysis, Applied Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Experiencing, & Pain Reprocessing Therapy. I am currently certifying in The Hakomi Method, a mindfulness-based somatic modality.
I have worked as a social worker in hospital settings and as a talk-psychotherapist in community mental health clinics and a psychoanalytic institute. Regardless of setting, I approach therapeutic spaces with reverence, and am humbled, honored, and grateful to do this work with folks from many walks of life.

Groups
Psychedelic Integration Group
In healing traditions involving psychedelics, it is understood that the work begun during psychedelic journeys continues well beyond their formal end. New insights and perspectives become more deeply rooted with further reflection and elaboration in a safe space. Our new Psychedelic Integration Groups are designed for individuals who've had guided or personal psychedelic experiences in the (relatively) recent past and are interested in having their integration process supported in community, with experienced facilitation by Dr. Ben Kagedan. Each group will run for 8 weeks and cover themes such as cultivating insight, making meaningful change, making sense of spiritual/existential experiences, and more.
