I approach the counseling relationship with a team oriented mindset, pairing my knowledge and expertise with the client’s desire and dedication to effectuate lasting change in their quality of life. In my experience working with clients struggling with substance abuse most presenting concerns have deeply rooted primary causes and are impacted by the client’s stage of human development and environmental factors.
I approach sessions warmly with a heavy person centered emphasis, while gently introducing challenges to cognitive distortions and lack of congruence in behaviors/thoughts. Clients can expect to learn healthy coping skills and will focus on the importance of practicing self care for all parts of the self in order to become the best versions of themselves.
