I desire for my clients to walk in freedom from the troubles and traumas of their lives and view it as a great honor to come alongside of them throughout their process of healing. I strive to help my clients feel safe, welcomed, and valued under my care and believes a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust and respect is a key factor in any client's successful journey. I know that seeking help and pursuing counseling is hard work and it is my honor to be the bearer of hope for my clients as they engage with hard thoughts and feelings. I love working with clients to help them process and heal, always with compassion and understanding. I use elements from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client-focused Therapy, and Positive Psychology with my clients and always customize my approach to what each client is needing.
Practical examples of my approach to counseling include (but are not limited to) focusing on building therapeutic coping skills, giving space to process things, learning new and more acceptable social behaviors, recognizing and overcoming cognitive distortions, identifying faulty core beliefs and replacing them with healthier, more accurate beliefs.
