I have a genuine interest in learning and connecting with others. I strive for authenticity, acceptance, awareness, autonomy, compassion, and a growth mindset for myself and for my clients. While techniques and modalities may vary depending on the client's goals, I first and foremost, strive to create for all clients a therapeutic environment centered upon safety, empathy, trust, and respect. As Brené Brown said, "Never underestimate the power of being seen."

I am trained in Somatic and Attachment focused EMDR trauma therapy.
My mission is to create a safe space for individuals to find healing, freedom, and self-acceptance. I am an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist, and am passionate about helping my clients regain confidence while beginning to love and trust themselves. I help my clients unlearn negative beliefs and begin to change relationship patterns that no longer serve them. I work well with people pleasers, people who struggle to set boundaries, or people who chronically sacrifice themselves for others. When we are able to know what we need and set limits in our relationships, we enhance our emotional well-being and our relationships become healthier.

Some of those tools include animal assisted therapy, TF-CBT, EMDR, DBT, Mindfulness, CBT etc.
I believe that everyone has the ability within their self to reach their highest potential. I believe that past experiences or negative messages we have received can cause us to lose our way. I want to help people find their way to their highest potential. I am a very caring considerate person but I can also be very direct. If you are someone who is ready to work hard to be the best you, you can be then we will do well together.

Embracing life's uncertainties, transitions, & unmet expectations can be challenging, but we are able to move forward with meaning & purpose. Sometimes building a level of resilience & mental fortitude is required for us to progress. By using an underlying attachment-based approach, I’m able to provide therapeutic services that are safe, authentic, & non-judgemental to allow for healing & growth. I have found that tailoring the modalities used to each client provides positive outcomes in various situations. EMDR, exposure & response prevention (ERP), experiential activities, & play therapy are among those that I am trained in.

I specialize in EMDR. I work primarily online with trauma, anxiety and grief. My clients are usually seeking EMDR for their therapeutic modality. It works so well that they begin to notice change within the first few sessions. Anxiety, fear, “monkey mind” etc. lessens and they get relief. They learn to use these skills for sleep problems, grief related issues and to calm themselves when angry or overwhelmed. They are seeking relief from invasive symptoms that make their lives harder and less joyful. Their hearts often “crack open”with love when they move from their heads to a more heart centered awareness.

I utilize a variety of approaches, depending on what is needed, but I most often use EMDR and DBT skills, and draw from Polyvagal and Attachment theories.
I am passionate about providing a safe and welcoming space for people to receive support and heal. I care deeply about meeting clients where they are and tailoring sessions to their specific needs. In my work with clients, I strive to create a space in which we can become curious about patterns that are no longer working, and how they might have developed in the first place. I help people develop more effective ways of coping, and I support them in changing the ways they relate to themselves and others.

I am trained in EMDR (trauma-therapy) and use a lot of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) principles in many of my sessions to help clients achieve their goals.
Hey! I'm Christina. I'm proud of you for taking this step toward seeking counseling. It's very hard to be vulnerable, especially in today's world. Counseling is a place to be seen, known, and feel safe. A place where we can talk through all of the hard and difficult things in your life and work towards healing. A place to figure out what's going well and how to build on those strengths.

I offer an eclectic and collaborative approach to therapy utilizing mindfulness training, attachment, EMDR, and the input of clients to guide us.
Through the ups and downs of life, one thing remains a constant— you. I help my clients foster a relationship with themselves with a sense of curiosity, acceptance, and grace. Life can be tough and confusing, but you are strong and resilient. I want to walk alongside you, hear your story, and offer a safe space for expression and exploration. It is my belief that people make sense- the person who starves themselves, or isolates when sad, or can’t find relief from that nervous feeling in their stomach, all make sense. You are not alone. Let’s walk towards healing together.

I take an integrative approach that includes talk, attachment, trauma-focused approaches ( EMDR, Brainspotting), body-based (Somatic Experiencing) and expressive arts therapies (drama therapy), parts work (narrative, Gestalt), CBT, solution-focused, buddhist psychology, and more.
I help you create more of the life you want, one that feels better and is more personally satisfying. I work with trauma, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, boundaries, narcissistic wounding, somatic issues, & other obstacles that keep you from thriving. Clients often reach out to me because they're feeling anxious, panicky, isolated, frustrated in relationships, stuck in perfectionism or people-pleasing, sad, unlike their usual selves, or desire for a deeper level of healing. If you want a collaborator to help you find your own unique way and provide practical strategies with a deep healing approach, I may be your person.

I'm trained in EMDR and ARC to help that adult or child be the best that they can be.
Do you feel like life has lately become a roller coaster? You find asking yourself, "when will this stop?" Life is like a journey and sometimes the path gets a little bumpy, but it does not mean that we cannot reach our destination. We might have to slow down at times and reassess our route and possibly take a side road, however, other times we just have to slow down and be there. Trusting can be difficult and at times scary, but it can also be rewarding. As a therapist, I have learned that relationships can be very powerful and can truly help a person heal.

Apart from the relational style that I typically employ in individual therapy, I am EMDR-trained and SomEx Level II trained.
Asking for help when dealing with mental health issues takes great courage. As your therapist, I will offer you presence, focused attention and a collaborative effort to understand your inner life. Together, we will work to bring about the changes necessary to empower you to live authentically, with purpose, and to achieve your full potential. I tend to work well with individuals who see their mental health as a journey or who are motivated to understand and work through the underlying causes of their difficulties in longer-term therapeutic relationships.

I utilize evidence-based therapy approaches like EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to help you experience change in ways you never could on your own.
Whoever said “Time heals all wounds” clearly never experienced trauma. When you face something so painful that it feels like it leaves a permanent mark on you, time doesn’t just make that go away. The good news is, healing is possible. You don’t have to suffer like this forever. As a mental health therapist, I work with people who have experienced deep hurt from other people. Maybe it was a parent who never seemed to have time for you. A spouse who belittled you. That family member who violated you. Or the friend who abandoned you.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
