We all seek safety, health and happiness in our lives, sometimes supported by, and other times challenged by, our life experiences, relationships and larger environment. Life often provides many resources for safety, health and happiness. When our connection with these resources is somehow block or reduced, we can use a supportive, caring relationship to find our way through worries, depression, dependencies, grief, low self-esteem, relationship disturbances, and spiritual struggles.

I utilize Somatic Experiencing and EMDR, which both assist in healing nervous system dysregulation, build resilience, support stress management and can be used for trauma resolution.
It is my hope to partner with you in learning how to first be with and then move through life's painful experiences in such a way that feels authentic to you. If you have unresolved grief, trauma or other barriers to your ability to thrive, I would love to join you in opening new doors to embodied and conscious living. I enjoy working with folks from most walks of life, those with body-based concerns such as chronic illness, chronic pain or difficult to diagnose physical symptoms that may be having an impact on mental health.

I utilize a variety of approaches, depending on what is needed, but I most often use EMDR and DBT skills, and draw from Polyvagal and Attachment theories.
Update: I am currently on maternity leave until mid-December! - I am passionate about providing a safe and welcoming space for people to receive support and heal. I care deeply about meeting clients where they are and tailoring sessions to their specific needs. In my work with clients, I strive to create a space in which we can become curious about patterns that are no longer working, and how they might have developed in the first place. I help people develop more effective ways of coping, and I support them in changing the ways they relate to themselves and others.

Therapy is hard. I want to create a space that is safe where you feel seen and heard to talk about the hard stuff. I use framework that supports individuals in all stages of life facing issues with relationship distress, grief and loss, depression or moodiness, trauma, anxiety, anger issues, self-defeating behaviors, or other life stressors.

Post- EMDR areas of growth may include identity formation, boundaries, and communication skills. Overall, I want my clients to be equipped to pursue a healthy, productive lifestyle. Using an integrative approach, I help clients increase self-efficacy by educating them on health practices they control that positively impact their mental wellbeing.

I can assist you in healing these attachment traumas and hopefully healing a relationship with this parent if that is what you wish by creating a safe and warm environment for you and then act as a guide as we process past experiences using IFS and/or EMDR trauma therapies.
I specifically work with adult children of parents that abused substances when they were growing up, and most of my clients still have a relationship with their parents. Whether your parent is now sober or still in active addiction, there is a complexity to the emotions this relationship(s) holds, the grief over what you wish you had with them, and the anger of the choice they have (and often times continue to) made. Due to this complexity and this grief, extra care and knowledge around attachment theory and trauma are required when working with clients that I can provide.

I am a Level 2 Internal Family Systems therapist, have completed the Emotionally Focused Therapy externship, Level 2 EMDR and the Advanced Counseling Certificate in Trauma-Focused Narrative Therapy.
Too often we live life in the fog of good health and favorable circumstances. But then, inevitably, something happens. Something difficult and hard to understand that pushes to the forefront the need for wisdom. Is there hope? On whom can I depend? What am I living for? What matters? Will I live? How will I live? Author and poet Wendell Berry said: "It may be that when we no longer know which way to go, we have begun our real journey. The mind that is not baffled is not employed. The impeded stream is the one that sings."

I also believe that connecting with our bodies is a vital part of mental wellness and healing and am trained in EMDR and Brainspotting to further facilitate trauma recovery.
I believe that humans are capable of healing and growth when we are given space to be seen, heard, and fully accepted. I hope that through our work together, you will find the freedom to live your life bravely and embrace who you are.
A question that guides my approach to therapy is: “How do your past experiences, trauma, and heartache impact your life today?” The answer to that question is an invitation to heal past wounds and find more peace in the present.

I draw from neurobiologically informed therapies and offer a variety of Cognitive, Somatic, and Energy Psychology interventions, such as: Brainspotting, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, EFT, IFS and TRE.
As a Trauma Specialist I honor the differences between Counseling, Therapy, and Trauma Processing. I work well with people who are trying to break free from cycles of dysfunctional family patterns, people trying to do better than their parents did, people who are the product of an affair (NPEs), people who've had spiritually transformative experiences (NDE, OBE, etc), people experiencing Post Traumatic Stress, people who've suffered medical gaslighting and iatrogenic injury (especially vaccine injured people) and people who generally think outside the box. Seeing the world beyond the lens of convention is my specialty.

I use EMDR, IFS, MBCT, CBT, and ACT.
I specialize in treating PTSD, using EMDR and IFS. I'm licensed in California, Tennessee, Oregon, and Colorado. I have helped clients improve self esteem, anxiety levels, depression, relational issues, phobias, lack of a sense of life direction, sleep, greater self awareness, anger issues, and more. Through teaching skills such as noticing and being with sensations, feelings, and thoughts, clients can access deeper parts of themselves. Clients get to the root of the issue, look at things in new ways, and heal the trauma that is stored in the body (by feeling it, safety, with my guidance and training) rather than avoiding it.

I have been trained in both EMDR and brainspotting.
Are the things that once made you happy no longer making you happy? Have you been through a traumatic experience that left you feeling scared, lonely, or even doubting who you are? Maybe you’ve been through a series of little things that you believe shouldn’t be bothering you, but they are. Have you found yourself on Google trying to figure yourself out only to find article after article about “childhood trauma”? I feel you. You are not alone. Together, I believe we can reduce your suffering, find direction, and feel happiness once again. My office is a safe and affirming space for all LGBTQ+ people.

I use EMDR therapy to aid clients in unlocking from the "stuckness.
How did you get here? Life has likely left you in a world of anxiety, family conflict, and stuck with traumatic memories. Moments that are part of your normal day have left a path of rage that you can't explain. You're left asking, "What is wrong with me?" Your value is not impacted by facing these common problems in life. Despite feeling like no one can understand you, there is hope for you and your relationships. It may be difficult to see that hope in the darkness of depression or stress.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
