Using evidence-based, trauma-informed modalities, such as EMDR, and attachment-based approaches, I help adults identify negative core beliefs they may hold about themselves so they can replace them with more reality-based perspectives and insights.
What’s keeping you from living the life you envision? Let’s figure that out together. Everyone can benefit from counseling to get through a rough time, a life transition, relationship difficulties or a break-up, a job loss or big promotion, present and past traumas, family conflict, aging, imposter syndrome, self-doubt, difficulty with boundaries, and more. If you’re willing to uncover what's getting in your way, I can help you break through barriers, let go of what weighs you down, develop better coping skills, tap into your strengths, and live more authentically.

Have you found yourself in another cycle of "what if?" Does "what is wrong with me" cross your mind? I know exactly how controlling and over-powering these thoughts can be. Our inner self-talk can be a bully and I don't want you to have to suffer through it anymore. I specializing in treating anxiety, complex trauma, and self esteem. In my work with individuals we explore why these behaviors are occurring, how we can change them, and then how to maintain our changes. I am trained in EMDR, an evidenced-based trauma treatment, from EMDR Institute.

I utilize mindfulness-based psychosomatic therapies such as EMDR, hypnotherapy, mindfulness based CBT, DBT as well as other modalities when relevant.
Reaching out is an important first step in your journey to empowerment, security, and breaking old habits that may no longer be serving you. For so many people, feeling stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed has become the norm. It is common to struggle with life from time to time, but struggling with constant negative thoughts, negative beliefs about yourself, anxiety, and depression does not have to be your norm. One of my favorite parts of being a therapist is helping women, men, and young adults feel empowered and secure in themselves, their decision-making skills, and their ability to create and shape the life they want to live.

I use this as well as my years of experience and training in integrated trauma treatment, EMDR, and psychodynamic modalities to support you in your journey.
In my years of experience I have come to realize so much about living in the world robs us of our ability to acknowledge our own magic. Therapy should be a safe place for you to begin to reclaim that magic and learn how to discover your own power. By using a "bottom to top" approach to identify how long held, negative beliefs, have kept you reliving and repeating the past, you can finally live in the present. I provide a safe, non judgemental space for you to work through trauma and reclaim the power inherent in you.

Tired of feeling stuck and frustrated? You deserve to live a meaningful and fulfilling life. I can help you accomplish that in numerous ways. While I offer traditional talk therapy, I also offer Somatic Experiencing and EMDR. Both of these modalities utilize an inside-out approach, facilitating healing at a deep, somatic level that endures, rather than trying to convince yourself you are okay when you know you don’t feel it in your body. Plus, you never have to sacrifice one approach for another. We continue to incorporate other modalities, such as psychodynamic, mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral interventions, into treatment.

If you can relate to some of these questions, you might consider scheduling an initial meeting to discuss your current aspirations. My style is collaborative. I welcome your questions about therapy, about me and my training and how I work.

I use talk therapy, EMDR, ACT therapy, attachment theory & CBT to build emotional intelligence, insight, explore thoughts & feelings in a safe, therapeutic environment.
Healing is an essential part of becoming who we are meant to be. I believe that we all have the tools and gifts to decondition ourselves from society and family expectations. Every one of us has the ability to co-create a beautiful, loving relationship with others, with ourselves and the Universe in which we live in. Using a collaborative and client-centered approach, I work with clients to build a stronger, trusting, and compassionate relationship with their true, authentic self that will innately heal internal wounds and support inner transformation leading to a fuller and more abundant life.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.
Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.
What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
