Specifically, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and EMDR.
Life can be difficult and complex, leaving us feeling stuck and alone. When these challenges affect our mental health it is difficult to make the decision to get the needed assistance, you do not have to deal with your struggles alone. Whether that looks like depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, or everyday life, my hope is to provide you with professional, competent, compassionate, and non-judgmental support to help you get through whatever life throws your way. All you need is the want to do it and we can work through this journey together.

I am EMDR trained and have also been trained in DBT and mind-body medicine approaches.
My aim as a therapist is to work with you to build an environment where you feel comfortable enough to come and explore ways to work towards the life you want to see yourself living. I work with adults of all ages and backgrounds who are looking to gain understanding about their own reactions and responses to the stressors in their lives, and who are looking for support in walking through the various challenges that life can bring. I am excited to work with individuals who are looking to learn more about ways to better manage issues with stress, anxiety, depression, chronic disease, and ultimately better care for themselves.

Do you have past trauma that you can't seem to get over? Things that you think about more often than you would like that are holding you back? I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to help people work through past hurts and/or trauma.
"I don't know what's wrong with me, but I don't feel like myself." Many things can happen in our lives that cause us to feel, "off," or not like we used to be. We may think that we aren't enjoying life as much as we used to, we may find that we are too caught up in our own head to enjoy things we used to enjoy. If you are feeling sad, overwhelmed, anxious, worried, nervous, or having a hard time dealing with changes, therapy can help. Most of us want a life worth living: good relationships with ourselves and others, happiness, and motivation to do things that we want to do. If you're ready to make some changes and start feeling better, call me for a free ten minute consultation to see how I can help you get back on track to feeling better.

EMDR therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma.
I have a special interest in working with individuals who are trying to change their lives in a fundamental way. These areas can include: substance abuse, relationships and the impact that chronic illness has on our lives. I have been trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) to help treat PTSD, sexual trauma and other behavioral issues. I offer an initial 20-minute free, face-to-face consultation. My main interest is that you receive the help you need. In the event that the initial consultation is not a great fit, I will provide you with a professional referral to another practitioner.

I am trained in Brainspotting and EMDR.
I know how it feels to contemplate beginning therapy, and I always found it both scary and intimidating. Relax. You've already taken a huge step towards self-care and wellness, and I would be honored to help you to continue on that path. As a person-centered therapist, my goal is to help you to find greater self-acceptance, build more fulfilling relationships, and create the life you deserve. Life isn't easy for most of us, and for many of us, it's been even more painful and challenging. While we can't change our pasts, we have the power to address how it affects us in the present, and we can create a beautiful future.

I have completed EMDR basic training.
My ideal client is focused on personal growth and healing. Many clients see the process of therapy as a one sided conversation with little opportunity to see others as real people. I am solution oriented while believing that therapy can be a challenging, changing, enjoyable process where clients can experience themselves in new ways. Therapy does not have to be painful. Calling a therapist can be intimidating. Please take a moment to do something for yourself to see how I can help. Often, I hear clients express how they are in fear of losing everything and want to change but don't know how.

Dana Booth, LCSW specializes in grief/loss/trauma counseling with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. Having 35 years experience in hospitals, schools, Grief Recovery Center and now private practice, I personally know how sudden, anticipated, or traumatic grief can change your world. Depression/Anxiety often accompany grief/transitions in life and it's a healthy choice to reach out for support. It's a privilege to walk along side one on his/her grief journey. It's too heavy of a burden to carry alone. EMDR and evidence based therapeutic tools can relieve some of the heaviness you carry.

At times, you might want to gain some traction, delve deeper in to various issues, and/or complete EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) treatment.
It is an honor to walk with individuals through their most difficult, anxiety provoking and painful times in life- in a safe, non-judgmental, and non-biased atmosphere. My goal is to collaboratively identify personal strengths, extract meaning, utilize effective coping skills, and develop a new understanding of self, in order to help you get the most out of life. The therapeutic alliance is built on trust, immediacy, and honest, open communication. Even if the process is new to you - if you are ready to honestly face your life circumstances, fears, anxieties, and choices - I am ready to assist you.

My two favorite therapy types are EMDR and cognitive behavioral.
Have you ever endearingly called yourself a "hot mess?" Do you love Jesus but you curse a little? If you don't know where you want to go but you're sure you can't stay where you're at: welcome. With me, you'll find no judgement, plenty of laughs (both with you and at you) and the GPS you've been looking for on this crazy journey. It's time to slip into the drivers seat and find the best route to the life you've always wanted.

Get your life back! Become the person you were made to be and finally live the life you’ve always dreamed of. Hi my name is Beau and I provide individual therapy for adult men and women and IFS Informed EMDR Consultations for Therapists. I know what it’s like to struggle. Early on in my life I struggled with anxiety and not fitting in. At some point, I began using drugs as a way to escape and lived a very unhealthy and unhappy lifestyle until I hit bottom. I turned my life around by getting help with a therapist (a very special person that held space for me and understood my pain without judging me).

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
