EMDR or our Radius intensives could be what you are looking for! Radius is a weekend therapeutic intensive, focused on survivors of trauma.
You want more than anything to connect with the people you care about but find yourself getting angry or pulling away when situations become tense. The changes you’ve worked so hard to make don’t feel like enough anymore. You’ve been in therapy before, but it has only taken you so far and you want to experience deeper healing.

Utilizing EMDR and NET can help bring your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs into alignment. With sensitivity and compassion, I draw from both conventional and alternative modalities to help you best meet your goals. Is your life and your behavior impacted by events from the past? That's a very common side effect of trauma. Trauma impacts the ways in which we respond to every day stimulation and can shape our choices in healthy and unhealthy ways. According to research, more than half of men and women have experienced a trauma in their life time and 2 out of 5 women and 1 out of 6 men have experienced sexual trauma. You're not alone in this pain and I would love to help you through it. Using talk therapy combined with EMDR, we will build a safe place for you to process your hurt and be able to unwind what the brain has been holding on to.

I also specialize in EMDR, a research-supported technique for reprocessing traumatic memories.
Have you found yourself feeling stuck or discouraged lately? Some of the struggles I hear about include self-doubt, boundaries, and stressful life changes. Others are dealing with toxic relationships, family, or work environments. People usually come to therapy because they're experiencing pain in one form or another. I've worked with clients of all ages and with a variety of issues, but the thing most of them have in common is that they all need someone in their lives to remind them that they matter. Everyone needs a sounding board, a place they can process without fear of judgment. I would love to provide that space for you.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
