I am EMDR trained, and can use this in individual and relationship settings.
You need a queer therapist who focuses on the LGBTQIA+ community, relationships, and recovery from religion, and you are likely having a hard time finding someone who understands the intersectionality of those worlds. If you want a therapist who works with relationships, individuals, and families all with the goal of helping you live the most authentic version of yourselves, you are in the right place. Together we will deal with issues related to difficulty getting into or maintaining relationships, trauma, religious deconstruction, anxiety, depression, and anything else you want to, because the time we spend together is yours.

I use DBT, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and trauma-informed approaches such as EMDR to increase your awareness of patterns of thinking and acting that were once helpful, but now have become problematic.
It takes awareness to recognize something is not working in dealing with life’s stresses and it takes a great deal of courage to seek help. I want to be your guide on the journey to discover healthy ways to manage stress, reconnect to yourself, and engage with all that is important to you. I am a doctoral-level Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 19 years of counseling experience. I am highly specialized in treating trauma, grief/loss and addictions

My work for the past several years has been primarily providing EMDR therapy with adults and military veterans.
Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or PTSD? Are you experiencing grief from losses that you haven’t been able to recover from? Do you avoid social situations? Are you resorting to using substances or unhealthy behaviors to cope? Are any of these issues affecting your relationships? Have memories from childhood trauma of sexual, physical, mental abuse or neglect continued to invade your thoughts? If you would like to start healing from trauma, disturbing events or the pathogenic memories behind depression, I am certified in EMDR therapy and I’m here to help you with that process.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR) it is a powerful psychotherapy approach that has helped an estimated two billion relieve many types of psychological distress.
Looking to move past your past? Suffering from Trauma? EMDR can change behaviors, reduce feelings and triggers quickly. I have 20 years in the caring field, and I found it is not uncommon as human beings that when we suffer a traumatic event or life stressors our entire world unravels as well. My passion is to help you get your life back on track, heal, and be emotionally whole. I assist my clients in gaining insight into their unhealthy behaviors and learn new ones. I use the Gottman method of communication for couples and individuals. I understand the happy and the painful side of relationships too.

I’m a trained EMDR therapist through the organization of EMDRIA.
Hi there, I'm Hayne. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor providing both in-person and Telehealth sessions. For 20 years, I've loved working with every angle of the family. If you looked at my schedule on any given day, you'd probably see a few married couples, some exhausted and burnt-out parents, a college student, a 4th-12th grader, someone having an affair, someone who has been crushed by a loss or a person who is wrestling through their attraction to the same gender. I often find that a person's willingness to come in and simply talk about things creates at least 50% of the change they are looking for.

I am professionally trained in several therapeutic modalities including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy but tend to use a more integrated approach.
Connection is hard. It requires a level of vulnerability that opens us up to the very pain we’ve been trying to avoid. Connection however, is vital to every person’s emotional, sexual, and mental well-being. We can’t understand ourselves or feel close to others without it. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Sex Therapist, I offer a safe, honest, and affirming environment where you can feel comfortable exploring whatever holds you back from connecting with yourself and others.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
