Some favorites are: EMDR, attachment-based, polyvagal theory, narrative and mindfulness techniques, bibliotherapy, Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), The Gottman Method, and the work of Esther Perel.
I specialize in working with both couples and individuals who are dealing with complex trauma, PTSD, and religious trauma, as well as those who are exploring their identity and navigating life transitions, such as relationship ruptures, career changes & grief. I provide therapy to both adults and youth ages 16+. In addition, I specialize in working with Latin/Hispanic and LGBTQIA+ individuals. I am particularly passionate about supporting expats and professionals from Latin American countries as they adjust to a new culture and build a life away from home. I work with couples experiencing trauma, life crises, and major transitions.

I am a Level III Gottman Therapist, PACT I, EFT and EMDR trained therapist.
The world has become a stressful place and while it has always been stressful, we have less community and connection. These times have really put a strain on us as individuals, our relationships, our families, our jobs/school and created overwork, stress, and trauma. Honestly, doing healthy relationship and navigating stress and trauma are not skills we have been equipped with. Therapy has become the space to learn those skills, navigate stress, do self care, live presently in life, and process the trauma that's historical and present in our day to day.

I'm ACT & EMDR trained, a certified Prepare & Enrich relationship counselor, and have extensive experience in counseling in a faith-based environment.
People don't usually seek counseling because everything feels like "sunshine and rainbows". Typically, if you're here, you're hoping to motivate change in your life. If you are finding yourself stuck in the same patterns, having the same fights and struggling with the same problems, counseling may be a good fit for you. While there is no guarantee to a happier or 'better' you, I believe that counseling is a great place to start. As your counselor, we can work together to create a safe & comfortable place for you to explore tough moments in life, where learning, growth, (and even change!), occur.

I utilize EMDR, somatic, existential, anti-racist, and narrative therapy modalities along with a queer informed perspective to facilitate conversations that assist clients in creating deeper belonging with self and connection with community.
I am a non-binary, queer, neurodivergent, white, parent, educator and activist. All of these identities inform my approach as well as my experience in the world. I conceptualize my role in therapy as a thought partner and story mapper. I work with clients to explore narratives and experiences, and note behavioral patterns with the aim of making the unconscious conscious. In addition to my role as a therapist I am a writer and passionate advocate for inclusivity within businesses and communities.

I am also a certified EMDR therapist.
I offer a compassionate approach to psychotherapy that works through the body to bring unconscious information (often held as tensions, chronic illness, nervous system disorders, anxiety, depression, nightmares, low self-esteem and inabilities to function at full capacity)into conscious awareness, facilitating deep and lasting changes. Our childhood wounds and traumas become blocks to the manifestation of our purpose/gifts. I honor the inherent wisdom of my clients and help them find authentic expression of their gifts. My strengths are my ability to use my intuition to help clients "put the pieces together," and my own personal experience with resolving trauma.

I have been extensively trained in trauma informed care and EMDR.
I know first hand how overwhelming it is to find a counselor that's the right fit. I am so glad you are here. Life can be difficult, but it doesn't have to feel unmanageable. We all need support and guidance as we work to navigate daily life. Living in constant fear is paralyzing and feels like you are trapped in your own body. You feel stuck and worry if you will ever find relief. Change is possible and I am here to help. I work with adults who struggle with issues related to anxiety, life transitions, and trauma. I am relational in my approach, meaning that I work to establish authentic connection in the therapeutic relationship.

After years of working with children and families who have experienced single incident traumas, relational trauma, abuse, and medical trauma, I've found EMDR to be very effective.
As a dedicated trauma therapist, I have special training and expertise in working with children (4-11) and families that have experienced trauma. I also have extensive experience in working with families whose children are facing end-of-life situations, life-limiting illnesses, and chronic health issues. I believe that children and parents are the experts in their lives and view my role as a catalyst for greater connection, attachment, healing, and meaningful change. As a clinical social worker, I recognize the impact systems and institutions can have on children and families and will be your advocate as you navigate these systems

We use EMDR or other tools I'm trained in to achieve this.
A healthy sense of humor is just as much a bridge to another soul as it is a shield against the unbearable. My clients often laugh as much as they cry or express anger, and I think that's important in the business of healing. What do you want to heal? Is there something about your relationship with a loved one that feels uncomfortable or unsafe? Do you need a non-judgmental space to help you figure out what you want or who you are?

I am trained in EMDR and often incorporate this modality into my work with clients to address specific trauma memories.
I address a range of concerns with clients including depression, anxiety, relationships, addiction and trauma. I believe that therapy offers the unique opportunity to work on your relationship with yourself, which consequently improves your relationships with others. I guide clients towards a deeper self-awareness and greater emotional resiliency. In my work, I emphasize the importance of self-compassion and taking a mindful stance towards your thoughts and emotions. When we are able to approach our internal life with curiosity and compassion, life is much easier to navigate, and strong emotion states won't overwhelm us.

I provide Psychotherapy, Biofeedback, EMDR, Psychological Testing, Pain Management, Hypnosis, Fitness For Duty Evaluations and Mental Health Evals.
I enjoy working with people of all ages and from all walks of life. I enjoy helping them find solutions to whatever challenges life is presenting them with. For some people, this may mean that they need only a few sessions, or what I call a"minor tune-up", before they are back on course with their lives. For others, this may mean more in-depth therapy to help find solutions to problems that have persisted over many years. And yet for others, they may not have any problems at all to solve per se.

If you are an ambitious woman in a constant state of stress, anxiety, self-doubt, and exhaustion, you made it to the right place. Are you stuck in an endless loop of worry and fear, unable to enjoy life's simple pleasures? The weight of anxiety leaves you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, and unable to fully embrace the joys of life. Imagine a life where anxiety no longer holds you back, where you have the tools to overcome daily struggles, and where you feel a renewed sense of control and enjoyment of life.

In order to offer these, I utilize EMDR, CBT, DBT, and narrative therapy, among other tools and techniques.
I currently serve clients virtually and in-person in Colorado and virtually from Florida. Therapy is about helping you, the client, be the best version of who you want to be, at whatever stage you’re in. We work together to help you identify and choose what you want and need in your life, and empower you to work through the things that are preventing you from being there. “The things” could be anything causing difficulty for you or keeping you "stuck". I can help you see beyond what has been or what is, to what can be.

Perhaps you are feeling stuck in your relationship, unsure about your career, or feeling disconnected from those you care about or lonely. Sometimes we feel at a loss of what step to take next or so overwhelmed with stress we can’t even make decisions. Too often, we have come to believe things about ourselves that are not true. I get it AND I can help. Together, we will work to heal those untrue beliefs and change the ways you feel about yourself so that you can live a joy-filled life and have the satisfying and loving relationships you want.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
