I offer ocular-assisted stress/trauma relief, similar to EMDR, along with emotional processing to help you uproot the issues that are causing undesired symptoms.
Are you struggling with patterns and behaviors that you can't quite seem to overcome? You may even be unsure of where they even started or came from. If this sounds like you, then I may be the person to help! More and more research validates how intergenerational trauma can affect us unknowingly. Many of our issues and struggles are not even our own and were passed down generationally. I offer new, cutting-edge modalities and technologies that can assist you in delving deep on a subconscious and/or generational level to help clear blockages that are keeping you from living your best life.

I use a holistic approach using traditional and non-traditional modalities to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Trauma-Informed Care, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR).
Everyone experiences trauma at some point in their lives. Anxiety, anger, forgetfulness, fear, sadness, survivor’s guilt, a diminished sense of self and feelings of helplessness are just some of the emotions experienced after a disturbing life-altering event . Rather than trauma, maybe you’re just feeling overwhelmed and stifled. Perhaps the joy you once felt has diminished, and you feel like it’s a struggle to get through a day. Maybe you’ve tried to make changes but find yourself falling back into the same old patterns. Are you going through a challenging transition and needing emotional support and guidance?

My main modalities integrate the brain, heart/emotions, and body through mindfulness, EMDR, and narrative therapy.
“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom" (Anais Nin). You know when it's time to make a change - whether the struggle is depression, anxiety, past trauma, or perhaps a painful relationship - there comes a tipping point when you are ready to make that first step toward hope.

My goal is to provide you with the best possible care by utilizing an integrative approach drawing upon evidence-based techniques utilizing IFS, AEDP, experiential, somatic-based, CBT, DBT, EMDR, and psychodrama.
Trauma can profoundly impact our lives, leaving us feeling fear, anxiety, doubt, and worthlessness. It can disconnect us from ourselves and others, making trust and purpose hard to find after a loss or traumatic event. These experiences may lead us to feel broken and damaged, but we are not. Our bodies and minds are responding as they are designed to—sometimes too well. I’d love to work with you to recalibrate these responses, helping you experience more joy, fulfillment, and feel more equipped to handle life's challenges—or just feel a little less crappy. We are not broken, we are healing and whole.

I have extensive training in EFT & EMDR.
Feeling like you just can’t do it anymore? You and your partner are caught in the cycle of chasing or backing away. We all get caught in our cycles within our relationships. And sometimes we are so caught in the havoc that we just don’t know what to do anymore to make things better. We begin to feel hopeless and don’t seem to find the right words without getting into another fight. The round and round never seems to stop. We all need our partners to be accessible to us, responsive to our needs, and engaged with us. We all need to know the answer to ‘Are you there for me?’ The answer may confirm our worst fears.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.
Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.
What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
