in Depth Psychology and certification in EMDR, an evidence-based trauma therapy, I strive to create an affirming environment where folks with complex trauma and/or attachment wounds can freely express themselves, practice new skills, and safely work towards healthier relationships, healing and growth.
When triggered do you shut down, have unexpected emotions, or dissociate? Do you want to understand why you relate to others the way you do, reflect on your attachment tendencies, and explore your identity? Have you been feeling stressed and unfulfilled, like nothing you ever do is ever good enough, or haunted by the past? If so, know you are not alone, and there is hope for healing. Through therapy you may be able to learn new coping and communication skills, decrease painful emotions and negative thoughts related to past traumatic or negative events, develop new ways to respond to relational triggers, and become more resilient.

It takes courage to seek therapy, yet it’s one of the most helpful forms of self-care when life becomes overwhelming. My goal is to normalize the process and create safety & support for self-exploration and relational attunement. I work with couples, families and relationships. Therapy is like turning on lights and finding guard rails when everything feels dark and uncertain. It can provide a map and offer loving presence &compassion in difficult moments. It empowers YOU to step fully into an empowered life with humility, courage, & connection with the parts of yourself and with others.

Through the use of EMDR, I am able to provide healing for issues such as PTSD, childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem.
I see clients as on a journey of self-discovery to reach their own goals for health and healing. I join my clients on this journey and help to facilitate this process, acting as navigator while they direct the destination. I assist clients in discovering their strengths and support them in walking through their struggles, whether it be anxiety, depression, mood or personality disorders, or relationship difficulties. My joy is to see my clients find within themselves the answers to their questions and struggles, while empathetically supporting the process. I also have extensive experience with trauma and its effects.

I am trained in providing EMDR and ketamine-assisted therapy, which can support folx feeling "stuck," by way of traditional therapy.
“A real sign of progress is when we no longer punish ourselves for our imperfections” - Yung Pueblo. I believe that oftentimes our perceived “imperfections” hold stories of pain endured, and that acknowledging their existence, instead of hiding them away can be the first step towards healing. This, however, can be one of the most challenging things to do, as it requires unlearning sometimes lifetimes of messaging from the world around us. Issues such as depression, anxiety and trauma can cause us to feel off, disjointed and as though we need to “fix” the parts of us we perceive as imperfect.

I utilize models such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) and use different approaches to help clients share their story.
As a human being, I recognize that taking the first step to seek therapy can be a scary yet courageous decision. I aim to provide a comfortable, and welcoming environment for individuals, couples and families by utilizing a client-centered, trauma-informed, and an attachment-based lens. I personally value my role in allowing clients to feel safe and secure to explore, express and develop different ways to find their journey to healing and find their inner strength.

I am trained in EMDR, and have working experience with other modes of therapy because no one’s goals are the same.
In the movie of your life, do you play the hero and the villain? Examples would be self-sabotage, counting yourself out, getting angrier than you need to, or adding stress to deal with stress. If being self-aware of these patterns hasn’t been enough to help you make positive changes, the support of a therapist might. Even if I don’t personally get the opportunity to work with you, I want you to know it takes courage to look within to stop being your own worst enemy. If we do work together I’m committed to helping you channel that courage to face what’s getting in the way of the role you want to play in your life.

I have an eclectic and nurturing approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Attachment therapy, Mindfulness, and EMDR therapy to offer an individualized approach to therapy.
Parenthood and family building is shown as this easy goal full of joy and magic, but your experience has been the exact opposite. You are surprised at how you feel: overwhelmed, anxious, angry, alone, devastated. You find yourself consumed with the “what ifs” and guilt. Scary thoughts come up and you feel a deep loss that is difficult to put to words. You wonder: Will you ever feel normal again? And what will normal even look like? In our work together, you can learn coping strategies, examine beliefs that leave us feeling stuck, process trauma, develop self compassion, and build confidence in your parenting abilities.

I utilize Gottman Method, Mindfulness, CBT-TF, DBT, EMDR, and IFS.
We all can feel overwhelmed & fear based when dealing with life's transitions, obstacles & everyday hiccups. This can wreak havoc on our interpersonal relationships, self-worth, and lovability at times when we go into giver and taker roles, unconsciously. Life is amplified when we harness our authentic values, trust our intuition to say no, & effectively communicate in a way that allows us to connect deeply to self & others. I love working with couples who are ready to heal their inner children together & align with their higher purpose to create something optimal together.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
