I am also trained in EMDR & am comfortable working with OCD & anxiety.
I trust in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship through acceptance & attunement.. which means I want to know your WORLD. Tell me about your favorite things/interests/etc! I aspire to provide a space in which we can be authentic, explore together, and even have fun! I aim to bring enthusiasm, warmth, empathy, (& humor!) into the room, while also working hard to make the changes needed for you to live your best life. We'll find tools that help you move with the emotions, not against them. I want to know YOU so I can better understand your strengths AND your challenges. That means parents, I might want to know you too! :)

As an LMFT, I have been practicing for over 18-years and traditionally from a psychodynamic approach, however, I have transitioned to a multifaceted approach -incorporating traditional therapy with EMDR, Somatic experiencing, Performance Psychology, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy & Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy (HCH). This integrated approach is a deeper process of psychotherapy and is achieved through a relaxed state of consciousness which embraces the concept of self-determination and the belief that every client contains, deep within their own subconscious mind, the key to their own individual health and healing.

Using Buddhist psychological counseling, somatic methods, EMDR, and Mindfulness, I work with families, couples, and adult individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, substance abuse & other addiction, grief and loss, trauma, and dissociative identity disorders.
Along with my MFT license, I have extensive training in yoga and meditation. In my practice I combine personal counseling with strategies derived from mindfulness training and body-mind integration practices. I help you become deeply aware of your long held patterns of thought, emotion, behavior, and relationship that may be creating difficulties and impeding your health and well-being. By engaging in this way, you will develop a friendship and intimacy with yourself, and feel more effective and free to solve your life's problems.I have made it my mission to use my training & experience to help those feel connected and open-hearted.

I also have experience with clients working in mental health, first responder, media-entertainment, high performance fields, and am EMDR trained.
Hi, thank you for reading a little bit about my work. After completing undergraduate studies in psychology, I detoured into corporate fields of advertising and finance. Those years of experience and my own therapy kept me close to my interest in mental health. It led me to earning an MA in psychology and becoming a therapist. Throughout this work, it is important for me that you feel seen, heard, and your voice upheld as a guidepost. Coming from a diverse family, I appreciate the complexities of building your self identity and having sense of self.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
