As a social worker and registered nurse, I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, illness, trauma, life transitions, stress, and and more. I have experience in schools, outpatient, residential, and crisis settings over the past 8 years. I use a non-judgmental space; allowing you to share concerns, set goals, find solutions and create positive changes. I can use my animal partners in your therapy process. Substantial research has demonstrated the importance of the human-animal bond. My goal is to work with you to improve and enhance your life.
I feel the therapeutic relationship can produce the change you are seeking. I think each person has the capacity for growth, even with the challenges they face. Every person has unique gifts and strengths. I can help you build on them to address whatever problems you feel you are facing.
My dogs will help you build healthy attachment relationships, develop empathy and caring capabilities, share traumatic experiences in an emotionally safe way. They can assist you to read "body language" which can be transferred to people. They can help calm you, decrease fear, and improve self-esteem and self-confidence.
