Life does have many stressful issues like loss, relationship dynamics, family conflict, work concerns, divorce, and medical crisis. These types of stressors greatly influence our ability to cope with our everyday responsibilities. My focus in therapy is to identify your current stressors and how they can either be resolved or develop the ability to decrease the severity of symptoms. Together, we will develop goals and steps tailored to you. I primarily work with couples with a Gottman based approach. I am also able to treat adult mental health issues regarding depression, anxiety and I welcome the opportunity to work with you!
My office hours are Tuesdays 2-7, Wednesdays 1-7 and Thursdays 10-3. In order to be more responsive to referrals, I ask you to email me at beth.m.mahoney@gmail.com. I consistently have a waiting list of referrals. If you need immediate assistance, I can refer you to one of my skilled interns or residents.
My main specialty is couples therapy and family relationships. When working with couples, I will provide you with a four session assessment with the use of the Gottman Couples Checkup online evaluation. The four sessions with evaluation results will help me to tailor an effective intervention plan as we work together towards a healthy relationship.
